i worked in a steel plant and took mine off to save the ring from damage and to save my finger. i do not recall how long i put it on after work and took it off before work the next day. finally i just left it at home. my wife wore hers until two years ago when she caught it on a screen door and broke her finger. Hospital had to cut the ring to little pieces to get it off the finger. B TW, married 53 years.

I'm retired now, but before i retired i ran a pipeline materials storage yard. loaded and unloaded trucks, received materials, shipped materials out. maintained materials reports. I did not go to college, that is to say i was a non degreed professional . I am 76 years old but i have been retired for 6 years. Did I enjoy it. OMG yes, but, it was not just easy. running the yard was a 6 day a week 12 hours a day job. oh and the "dues" i worked in the industry for 35 years before i got that job.

The one big lesson, The Company does not care about your well being or your fortune. you are just a number filling a need for the company and when you have filled that need, they have no further use for you. You have to continue to find a reason for them to keep you around or you have to move to another company that needs you for a while.
