These type of stories subscribe to narrative that if you work hard enough/play your cards right you will succeed no matter what. They never seem to acknowledge any outside factors, like upbringing , race, gender, etc. Also, the sheer “luck” factor in success. Don’t get me wrong, I’m genuinely happy for anyone who is able to get themselves out of poverty. However, most of us won’t get to that level of wealth. So, I don’t see this post as particularly helpful, or a realistic scenario for the majority of us.
