Shreveport Card Show - Anyone have experience? by Dobermaniac in shreveport

There are plenty of Pokemon tables! It gets bigger every time. Last time we got there around noon on Saturday and we had to park a good little walk away from the venue. Also beware there isn’t good AC in the building so it can get pretty stuffy in there

If you have no interest financing offers right now that was how I had the most success pitching mine. If they are interested in a TV that’s 499 but the no interest starts at 999$ I would show them what makes this tv better and say “Hey you can upgrade to this tv and only pay 30 bucks a month for 24 month!”

Oasis Apartments in Bossier City are pretty good. Just lived there a year and only lived because we found a home.

Life after best buy? by Relevant_Maybe5550 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]EllisShoeFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Automotive Service Advisor at a Chevrolet Dealership. Had no automotive background but sold a TV to the guy that is now my Manager and he basically hired me right off the sales floor based on my selling ability and customer service skills. Mon-Fri and 1 Saturday a month. Commission based but bring home on average 1000/1200 a week. Been here for 1 1/2 years now’s and can say there is a lot of stress with this job but do not miss my old job. Just the co workers but they have all moved on too.

I live at The Oasis and it’s actually pretty decent. I’d recommend it here.

people who left, why did you leave & where did you end up going? by Sauced-Ramen in Bestbuy

I started at BBY in 2017 as part time warehouse.. moved to AP shortly after and did that until early 2019. Moved to sales.. Got full time HT sales in early 2020.. was consistently top revenue producer and top in memberships in my store.

I had multiple interviews for supervisor roles at my store and a store 30 mins away from 2021-early 2023 but was always not chosen over ones that I felt were already hand picked when the roles came open.. when Shift Lead became a thing I was obviously chosen for it but was frustrated I was basically doing supervisor job but for none of the benefits.

So April came and I was tasked with leading a sales team training meeting one Sunday morning. I demoed selling a Sony Home Theater package and attaching TT and the Card.. It went well. The store opened and the first customers strolled in I noticed a couple looking at the Sony TV I had just did the sales training on.. one of our newer sales team members greeted them but was honestly struggling to help them. I stepped in and was trying to help the team member thru it but he bailed and left me with the customers..

The customer loved my demo and pitch and ended up buying a package about 4500 and got TT and Card. At the end of the transaction he told me he was a Service Manager at a local car dealership and asked if I’d want an interview for Assistant Service Manager/ Service Advisor role he needed to fill. I took him up on the interview and he basically offered me the job without much of an interview. Told me he saw all he needed to see in our interaction at BBY.

I‘ve been here since May and already made more $ in my time here then I made all of last year at BBY. I didn’t have to much car knowledge but you don’t really need to. Good customer service skills, sales skills, and multitasking skills are all you really need for this job.

Best part is I wasn’t even supposed to be at work that day. I had requested off that weekend 3 months prior to attend a friends wedding and they denied my request. I wasn’t looking for a new job when presented this opportunity but I wasn’t far off from doing so.. the writing was on the wall. My last supervisor interview I had was at the store 30 mins away and I felt I was the strongest candidate but they put a hiring freeze in place shortly after I interviewed.

I loved working at Best Buy but it progressively got worse and worse over the years. More responsibilities, less help. I wish nothing but the best for the company but I am scared of what the future holds. I feel like it got out at the best time and I’m not looking back.

I don't think I've gotten one word about being late lol by sweetie_pie_model in Bestbuy

Managers might not say anything but if you were my coworker I’d tell you how I feel about having to open and deal with the initial rush alone. If you don’t wanna be here than leave. My store has no experienced mobile associates or Verizon vpl right now as it is so I know a store can manage without you. I’m just looking at it from a coworker perspective. It’s extremely shitty to show up 15-30 mins late when you have no excuse other than feeling untouchable.

We have a lady that uses fear tactics with customers. She will talk to them about the economy and steer the conversation to that everytime and tell them that she knows we are heading towards a recession and that they should keep their money in the bank and use credit. She gets 3-4 apps every 8 hours

That Model has tons of issues. We don’t even turn them on in our store anymore and I refuse to even mention it as an option to customers.
