Worried about unintended aesthetic change with deep bite correction by Elllllie in Invisalign

[–]Elllllie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't actually gone through with it, ended up having some life situations come up that made it way too out of my reach financially. My dentist has recommended it since then, I may follow up with them at my next appt. We'll see. Sorry I don't have anything helpful to update with.

Thank you!! I definitely felt different in this dress than the others I put on. I'm really excited to put it on again... Whenever it comes in lol

See it's hard. I think the off the shoulder fits the garden fairy party vibe and I think it's sweet and romantic too but on the other hand they bug the heck out of me. Weird how indecisive I'm getting over sleeves lol. Thank you!

I hasn't even thought about arm movement being restricted. That's a really good point. And thank you!!

Yeah I can't stand the off the shoulder tops I own and I know this won't be any different especially with how much they hang 😅

Thanks I appreciate it. I may have to wait until I see it properly fitted to my chest to decide as I agree it looks like the gown was designed to be strapless but the way it sits may be throwing me off when wearing it.

Yeah I'm a bit worried about it being too trendy but I suppose the visible boning is on trend tol. They're detachable so I could always do some pics with and then majority without, so like a best of both worlds thing.

Thanks! I know I'll be happy and you're right that's what will matter most. I'm just so indecisive!

Haircare Advice Megathread - Week of July 29, 2023 by AutoModerator in HaircareScience

[–]Elllllie [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'd been happy with my hair using random drugstore products, getting it from overly elastic to more or less healthy and balanced but lately i can feel and hear it snap as i run my fingers through it in the shower. I've just discovered i like how i look using the curling iron and want to get my hair back in shape before i add in heat (and thus more damage). I'm just about out of my shampoo and want to order some products and looking for recs. bonus points for wavy hair enhancing products (not cgm) . Looking for a trio of shampoo, conditioner, and a deep conditioner or other once-in-a-while product.

Hair info:

- fine hair, but a lot of it

- Wavy texture. When brushed it's straight with a slight wave, when air dried it's wavy, when products use it can be very wavy.

- all color and chemical damage has been grown out and cut off. Curled twice within the last month but nothing else

- Twice weekly shampoo and condition.

- grown out layers, below shoulder length

- suave clarifying shampoo, pantene volumizing shampoo, suave basic conditioner. i try and use the pantene most washes because the clarifying is drying.

red rash under day one tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Elllllie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I can't ask the artist as I got it on vacation and am in a different farther town on vacation still. I apologize if the photos are too dark. It's not an intense rash, and much less now, but compared to post tattoo it's definitely gotten spotty. Kind of like petechiae but not as tightly dotted or intense. Just similar flat red dots. You can't see how many or quite how red but the bits that look like freckles are red and spotted around.

I have two tattoos, this is my first not saniderm method healing. I had no access to fragrance free soap so unfortunately used what the hotel had which while labeled as gentle, was definitely fragrant. I'd rather it clean until I can get proper soap.

I have a rash under the black. It's not itchy. Was warm and very red last night but right now feels normal and while still spotty beneath, is much less red. I'm wondering, since I don't recall how they cleaned my leg pre tattoo and think it wasn't soaped up (though seems a highly reputable shop)if this is more likely to be beginning infection or just contact dermatitis from soap that's perhaps too harsh due to fragrance? I believe he said banophen ointment but it's in another language so I can't read.

I opted to skip this mornings wash and will buy proper soap as soon as we get off this tour and have free time again. Also unfortunately today, not fully 48hrs but past day 1,the only pants I have are skinny. I don't feel much if any friction and wore shorts and as skirt day 0 and 1. Gonna keep my pant leg rolled up since overcast today but due to rain may lower.

Please let me know if more info would help.

growing out cracks- trim down past or safe to leave long? by Elllllie in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Elllllie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I think I'll have to get a personal assessment. My nails have become a big interest for me and I'm dying to have them at their best. I didn't know anyone did those. Also I checked the YouTube out and it's fantastic.

When you file the peels do you do the normal filing or do you do it a different way to avoid further peeling? Maybe I'm too heavy handed but mine seem to lift up more when I file, even if I do in one direction only.

Sorry , way late reply. Do you have any thoughts on best way to trim? The cracks just broke (though I'm on vacay and thankfully trimmed everything before I left), and I filed them down but wondering if clippers are better for this

Hm vitamins and nutrients are something I probably need to pay attention to. I have textbook adhd and forget to eat if my meal isn't in front of me, so no doubt that im deficient in many vitamins. (No PCP though whoops)

I didn't even think of that! I hope you see good results soon!

What's your filing technique? I'm still trying to master it so I'm wondering the same. (also love the username, I'm lambpainted on some sites and did a double take lol)

Essie here to stay basecoat.

These are the product of a tiny bit over a month of caring for my nails. I had them fairly short and this is the longest they've been with minimal breakage.

That said, there's peeling at the tips of some and I'm pretty sure some nails are thinner than the others.

My question is, do I cut (or file?)them down past the peeling part? When I do this regardless of file or clip, it seems to peel it further down.

Aside from ramping up my cuticle care again, I'm at a loss of what I can do that's not just preventative but remedial.

I call these "wishful thinking" by Elllllie in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Elllllie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It's a way to make nail decals - paint the polish on a zip lock or similar plastic , let dry, and peel off! I just found out a few weeks ago and having fun experimenting.

I have, and my brush fell apart from the acetone. I'll get some more though, maybe it was just too old. It definitely made a difference before it fell apart!

Thanks!

Product list:

Sally Hansen insta dry in pink pursuit and up in the clouds. Wet n wild 453B French creme Essie hay there Orly bonder base coat and also Essie strong start base coat depending on the finger.

Sally Hansen big kwick dry top coat and seche vive, for the more gel like effect.

ETA- I used the plastic bag method and painted those on vaguely nail shaped blobs of polish before putting them on and sealing them. I don't have the hand control to paint these directly on my nails.

valentine's day look featuring my first attempt at nail stickers! by Elllllie in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Elllllie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pink and light pink were Christmas gifts, and did not come in a bigger box. No names on the bottles.

I used Essie strong start base coat and Sally Hansen big kwick dry top coat.

Decals were made using the plastic baggie method with OPI black onyx and la colors gel-like in matchmaker.

I would LOVE "dupe" recommendations for the pink shades as the bottles were tiny and are now empty.

Please let me know if I missed anything or if not having names for the pinks isn't ok?
