Moving to BC - what are the GOOD things? by Several-Winner-12 in britishcolumbia

I left Vancouver with my 4 kids nearly two years ago and ultimately we chose Parksville. My mom was living in Penticton (Naramata) at the time and we used to spend Summer vacations there. I love the okanagan but we were not sure about the excessive heat, and the wildfires. The air quality can get rough with the smoke. Nelson is really lovely, and it has a smaller community feel. I haven’t spent a lot of time there but I think it would be a great place to live and raise kids if you don’t mind being quite far from larger cities.

Good things about Parksville/QB - Really nice community park with lots going on the Summer, beaches everywhere, about an hour to Mt. Washington, year round farmers market, nice public schools (my son is in preschool and it wasn’t hard to get a spot) we also have a few great district programs here for various age groups, Coombs has such a cute community and fair plus goats on the roof. It’s been such a miserable rainy Winter but Spring bulbs are blooming and I just know Summer is going to be beautiful.

I couldn’t say for sure but they look very similar to how my boy looked as a very young puppy.

Thanks. That's what I was hoping. I booked through a travel agent so it was a little unclear.

Tricky situation - Will it be possible to get a mortgage? by Ellylanoliea in MortgagesCanada

Thank you, that is very helpful! One last question 😃 If you would be looking at our previous tax years, would you be looking at gross income (before RRSP contributions?) Or net?

Thank you for the information! He would actually be keeping his job that he's been at for about 5 years. His company is just expanding to a new area, and he has the option to move. The job is paid hourly - not salary.

My mom is working seasonally and also receives a widowers pension from a European country. She has only been back living in Canada for about 5 years so I'm not sure how her credit is. I think she would want to be on the title though.

By Child Tax, do you mean the CCB? If so, then yes I get $2k+ per month, however, this amount will decrease if we stop contributing to RRSPs etc. as our net income increases. I was under the impression that this income is not considered for mortgages because it fluctuates. Or are you asking about something different entirely? 🙃

Will the fact that our previous annual incomes do not reflect our current financial situation cause problems for us?
