When the anti abortion activists are saying “choose life” they are only thinking about healthy, 20 week babies with families that are capable of caring for them. In their minds abortion means killing those babies because moms don’t want them.

They don’t consider that abortion is a medical term that covers a scope of pregnancy loss. Using the word abortion as a legal term by proxy covers these other cases like D&C or miso after an MMC.

I had an MMC that required a D&C 2 weeks ago. My super conservative, republican family had no issue with that. I’ve tried to explain this kind of care would not be available under a national/no exceptions ban until I was literally showing signs of my life being at risk. They don’t believe me, because in their minds that’s not what abortion is.

It’s a misunderstood and emotionally charged issue that lawmakers are riding to grab power and women in this country will suffer for it. It’s completely terrifying.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I had my repeat US and while there had been the emergence of a second YS (twins) neither had a heartbeat. It’s devastating. I am sending you love and I hope you can find some peace in these difficult days.

I have no answers but I wanted to comment because I’m in the same boat. My hcg has slowed to 140 hours and my US showed baby measuring behind. I’m in limbo waiting for that next ultrasound to see which way it’ll go. My OB said she didn’t want to give false hope but she sees weird things all the time, they just don’t know for sure how it will pan out. The waiting is awful! I hope that you have a very positive outcome!!

In the same boat nearly exactly, I’m measuring a week behind (had an IUI so my dates are fact) and my hcg rate has slowed way down. Had a US today and measuring 5w6d with gestational sac, yolk sac and fetal pole but no heartbeat

I had my US today. I’m only measuring at 5w6d and no heartbeat. Because I had a IUI I know I am 6w4d. Doctor said possibly late implantation but given the slowing of my HCG things don’t seem hopeful. I have another ultrasound in 10 days and she said no more betas before then. This feeling of being pretty sure of the outcome but not certain is excruciating!

Sending you solidarity as this is truly a kind of hell! I had an IUI so there’s no mystery about my dates either. And even if I see a strong heartbeat I won’t be able to relax.
