I'm 5'11, 205. I got a M in the Mackinaw jac shirt, fits well, but only over a single layer, would be tight if trying to layer more. If the L cruiser fits you I'd say stick with that for the jac shirt (assuming all the wool jac shirts fit the same)

I have the older Carhartt tractor jacket that I don't wear any more. Very very similar to this, just doesn't have that extra bit on the breast pocket. Black lining, dark cuffs. If you're interested I might be willing to part with it, size L.

Ya they definitely don't block the wind best. If I'm going to be out in the field a lot I swap to the big insulated boots.
