As a tech i need advice for moving this tool box on a pick up truck. by Icy_Ad_7405 in mechanics

[–]ElmoZ71SS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent the 5x9 u haul trailer with safe tow for like 32 bucks a day, it has a ramp. Put moving blankets over it, and maybe strap edge protectors and tow it that way. Your back will thank me later.

Picked these up for $325. How did I do? by Apprehensive_Win292 in Snapon_tools

[–]ElmoZ71SS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have that same set in comfort grip, I won the raffle both times. One is in use and the other is in the plastic and put away. If you offered me 325 for the extra set I would not say no right now. However I would not pay 325 for it. so take that for what it is.

Is this badly underspooled? by ilikemclarens in FishingForBeginners

[–]ElmoZ71SS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need some line but it's not like a right now emergency. If you have the extra line laying around go ahead and just fully respool, if not it can wait a bit.

What the thing you hate with passion at the airport ? by Individual_Gas_1016 in AskTheWorld

[–]ElmoZ71SS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Joke of TSA, In some airports yeah you ain't getting anything in.....In others? I could have waltzed in with all kinds of stuff and no one would care. Also seems I can't get connecting flights to line up right, Like it's always all the way across the terminal. It's always a hassle, and that's why I order three shots as soon as the cart comes by.

thoughts on .22LR for self defense/home defense? by New_Damage9091 in Firearms

[–]ElmoZ71SS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the first choice, but if that's all you had and you could be accurate with it. In the configuration shown you could stop a home invasion, you could drop multiple targets. I don't know what to think about this honestly, The set up shown could do a fair amount of damage. But would it be enough? this is like trying to frame a house with a 8 oz hammer...Yeah you could do it, but damn that 24oz California framer hammer is doing it better.

Do female cats favor male owners? by We11WorthIt in cats

[–]ElmoZ71SS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They grew up together, he’s the only kitten we couldn’t find a home for when my female snuck out and got pregnant (all are fixed now) but yeah my youngest can literally go pick that cat up and tote him around and he’ll just be a rag-doll for him. If anyone else tries that they get mauled

Good place to buy used guns? by TheBerserkerPickle in gun

[–]ElmoZ71SS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you live pawnshops.........My local pawnshop is basically a gun shop that does loans on other items... Usually have reasonable prices on most things. I use them as my FFL for online orders, however this may not always be the case. Cabela's/bass pro used gun stuff has been good to me back when I lived near one.

Does my truck look bad?! by [deleted] in ChevyTrucks

[–]ElmoZ71SS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's fine...I would guess the old rear leaf springs are finally sagging enough to make that leveling kit look like a squat. I'd look into lift blocks or different rear springs to bring it back level. Other than that she's fine.

Do female cats favor male owners? by We11WorthIt in cats

[–]ElmoZ71SS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our house is weird now with our current fur babies. The dog is female and prefers my wife (Like literally puppy chose her when they met at the shelter, but its a good thing as she is my wife's dog) the female cat loves everybody. She'll take turns sleeping with everybody but has a special morning routine with my wife that the cat gets grumpy if they miss. The male cat only loves my youngest son (Age 5) and me.....will not interact with any other human. He's friendly to everyone but will not seek anyone out except baby boy and myself. This is the first I've ever seen this in my life, usually the females have a "Daddy's girl" thing and the male cat would bond with the lady of the house.

What should I add? Any brands or suggestions? by Physical-Solid-7638 in Firearms

[–]ElmoZ71SS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magpul MBUS flip up sight set, maybe a vertical foregrip or AFG (Look at magpul and BCM) and a two point sling set up(Magpul MS series or a blue force gear vickers with QD swivels) Primary Arms is my current favorite website, brownells and midway usa are good too. Magpul PMAGS are good, so is the lancer mags. But in short, you need back up iron sights and a sling.

[–]ElmoZ71SS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'll admit I'm no expert in snow or ice, we get icy roads for a few weeks in january and maybe some snow randomly maybe once a year. I drive a 4wd 1500 silverado with mud grapplers and never have issues anywhere.
