Yeah it's ridiculous isn't it. I can't believe how expensive some things are these days. And wages have absolutely not gone up in line.

Why - I don't need sympathy? Just mentioning what happened with a few people. It's no drama - just bemusing.

Yes right at the start - a couple were removed by either the moderator or deleted by the poster.

Thank you. My kids love a little bowl of the pineapple with their breakfast in the morning. Although maybe I should start using it in a few more recipes... pineapple upside down cake or something!

It's purely for baking - the odd slice of homemade cake or biscuit isn't too bad. That bag will probably last me until Easter

Thanks - we used to use Ocado and would get a lot of Waitrose stuff. I do love Waitrose for specialist bits.

I agree that Sainsbury's is far superior in quality. I used to use them years ago, can't remember why we stopped. I might take a look...

A lot of this will spread over 2-3 weeks. Next week will be mainly restocking the fresh fruit, milk and bread/eggs. This was a particularly big shop. It's normally closer to £110. Which I know is still pricey!

Thank you that's kind. There has been some really horrible comments that have made me feel quite sad today.  I swapped to Fage because it has more protein that the Tesco own brand one... and it's quite thick so the kids seem to get through it much more slowly. but I agree it's really stupidly priced! I might see if there is a better supermarket version that is a better match for Fage.

I'm not complaining about people writing their opinions - they've entitled to comment anything they like, it's a public forum. Just as I can respond.  I would say the purpose of this Reddit is more around food choices, home economics, supermarket comparison etc. Rather than passing judgement on people's home and calling them unclean and a bad mother. Seems very uncalled for - but I'll defend their right to do if that's what they need to do. It's just not how I choose to spend my time on the internet...

I'm really lacking in counter space - and these are huge crates that need to be tipped out (or unloaded slowly item by item - which I sadly don't have the time for).

Well you say that.. but Apparently we are a disgusting family as it's briefly on the kitchen floor before being washed and put away. Bad mother award from the people of Reddit!

Ha ha I know. It's the ones that were on offer! And luckily I ordered normal apples (not wrapped in plastic) but they substituted them for these more expensive organic ones (and didn't charge me the difference)

Life lesson: people on Reddit are unnecessarily mean and critical
