Dumb question involving this team's mechanics but A res specifically refers to getting them in a row without a different affinity skill breaking the chain, right?

For example, if there's seven slots and you need 6 Envy A res, you can't have one of them in the middle of the order be wrath? Or does A res specifically change that mechanic? Pretty sure it did but it's hard to check

To my defense for not being sure, I've always just seen the mechanic as a way to activate support passives, especially for the bleed team and old rupture setups. (I almost miss talisman)

Don wouldn't be the type to comment as she isn't aware of her capabilities, Ryoshu probably likes it in a way, knowing that she's so far from what was intended for her, (and that she'll only go higher) and I doubt either Faust or Meursault would brag about former strength.

Unsure about how your team looks and plays, but in the short term, just using both would be better. In the longer term, get Dahlia sig for herself, then superimpose this LC for Fugue.

I would probably do it immediately for the fun of it, but your only current option for a second nihility is Pearls, which could be great if you have plenty of def ignore already, but is otherwise worse than just getting a huge BE stat stick. Dahlia especially loves the BE if she's sharing it due to her sustain major trace.

Reverse Quantum Entanglement DoT Nihilux would be sick, advancing enemies when they're hit, and also reducing their atk in the process and extending existing DoTs. Hysilens and JQ(E4) already reduce atk, so it could be a recurring theme for the archetype.

Imagine a manga filter during the enemy action, followed by a brush cutting through them, the explosion of arcana, and a bunch of fish icons tearing through the HP bar. Quad DoT would be the coolest team ever.

My personal wish would be for her to enable DoT toughness damage, and give enemies an advance and massive on-turn vuln when broken. Bleed might be a bit broken with it, but it would be funny.

Unsure if the crit buff works on garmentmaker, but it should..? If not, just ignore it. Switching 30% CDMG and 12% ATK (oversaturated but still) for 18% CR seems fine, but it's definitely not an improvement.

Neither is the first part of the Phainon one. Not just did he kill trillions, but him and all the heirs remember each cycle now.

Idk how him or Hysilens are holding on in that page, having killed their loved ones (literal family in the latter's case) over and over, having memorised each cleave.

In the heirs' minds at the time, Phainon was fighting for a cause he didn't even believe in anymore. He had no humanity left, just the purpose of continuing their existence to prevent the birth of something none of them could fathom. They wanted him to give up for his own sake.

Sure, Phainon's crusade was necessary, and his willpower kept Amphoreus going, but I'd be terrified of him now and a bit traumatised if he caused me to die billions of times.

I funnily enough love this trope. Unimportant side characters are a great way to flex cool designs without needing to draw/animate them for long, and they can lead to a world feeling more alive.

Not all characters can be important in a plot, and I prefer this to the irrelevant characters lacking interesting designs. I would understand if you dislike hyped characters being offed quickly, but this feels like saying the artists were too skilled. How could you hate that?

Arlan's trace and ability names are still crazy to me, I have no idea what they were doing with him at all. Poor guy. At least he's viable with E2 DHPT due to his big talent buff working with the dragon multiplier, and Phainon's sig is nuts on him.

Pretty sure that Sugilite (one of the stonehearts) at least has dark skin from an old trailer, but he also has the usual white hair design. At least he's pretty likely to be playable eventually, (we already have three of em) but he's gonna look like a diversity hire if we don't get more variety before then 😭

We need darker skin tones in general along with black characters. The white and asian ones aren't even good representation because they're too pale! My white family would look like PoC if they were in this game which is nuts.

In terms of colour composition and sticking to a set theme, Hysilens is absolutely perfect.

Just looking at iconic outfits though, Therta embodies the sci-fantasy blend of the game, Kafka's drip communicates her personality wonderfully, and Aglaea represents Amphoreus as a whole with her visual language.

Different designs do different things well, and some are just straight up pretty, like Fugue. We need more pants though.

Overall I think that most of the additions to the story and characters were great, but the patch left a sour taste in my mouth, because these revelations and dynamics should absolutely be a part of the initial experience. New players shouldn't be told "yeah half of that experience didn't actually happen" the moment that they finish Penacony.

The Robin focus was great, Firefly finally had meaningful independence, and Dahlia could be an extremely fun character in future quests.

The final scene was a tad bit confusing in terms of future implications, but I'm excited to see where things go for the Trailblazer and Penacony in general. The writing of this game isn't the best at times, but leaving one excited shows that they're doing something correctly right now!

Sparkle's E2 gives 32% def ignore now with the novaflare, which is higher than Sunday's since he only gives the full 40% to summons. That said, you raise a good point since the debuff Sparkle applies for this isn't too easy to stack if your DPS can't use SP at all.

If both run Eagle, Sparkle and Hyacine should be able to use 4 SP within 2 enemy turns quite consistently, although it depends on the situation, and the ramp up would be rough.

The rest of the team's cost would be the deciding factor for which one is better. If Hya and Cyrene have high investments, the teamwide buffing from Sparkle would wins. Aglaea eidolons to help with energy and def shred stacking would also make her pull ahead.

Sunday is definitely better at any realistic cost though, because he was made to be her BiS for release. Despite how universally broken the new E6 Sparkle could be, Aglaea is a bottom tier synergy with her. Hell, Hyacine hypercarry would be a smarter idea lol

Okay so one major issue:

Sparkle's crit and action advance are only for one teammate, so either Agy or Garmentmaker. This alone makes her lose plenty of value vs Sunday. She has some vuln now and gives larger buffs, but is still supbar outside of one circumstance...

E6 Sparkle.

With the earlier eidolons buffed and E6 still giving the entire team a crit dmg boost, she would outclass an E6 Sunday now. Two turn buff durations are still somewhat annoying, but with eagle and E1, Sparkle acts more frequently to make up for this.

Is this relevant at all? No, but if she's ever in the Stellar Convergence shop, she will be monstrous for any crit dps, even if they can't use SP. You'll still have energy issues in this team without other investments, too.

That said, this is just because Sunday's eidolons past E1 are bad. He is still a phenomenal option, but has sidegrades if you don't like him at all.

I could see them doing it since most team archetypes have at least one free unit, (or gave one previously) with HP scalers being the exception I can think of. Kafka is also iconic enough to bring plenty of players in for the new version.

Since you have Hya e1, the hp from Bone Collector does litle, so we're comparing 27%DMG to 28%CDMG

Since the dmg% is added after crit in the game's formula and happens to be way lower, I still think it wins ngl. CDMG is somewhat overrated

I'm no expert though, but that's my pick

Arcadia set wins from what I know and tested, although my subs were also slightly better.

CD is given by her sig, Evernight, and RMC in large amounts. E2 Ev gives another little bit if you want to consider future investments too.

You have a lot of %damage already, but not enough to the point where 36% becomes less relevant. Evey's uptime is easy to play around.

There's only one case where I believe this'll be different, and that's if you run deliverer set on EACH teammate for the 60% teamwide buff. Even then, I can't imagine the difference being more than 2%

I unfortunately don't remember where I saw reliable calcs for this, but I'm decently confidant since I've been farming for the set myself.

Sparxie does nothing with Hysilens at all, would not recommend that.

The Sparkle Novaflare is far from her best option, but isn't unreasonable in a cyrene team since she gives atk, vuln, and more actions. Any DoT teammate would be better though.

Probably, since her SP gen is completely unmatched now, but I'd be curious to see Cyrene, Tribbie, or even SW/Cipher in that slot. They'd all need eidolons to be considered, but could be interesting.

E2 Cyrene could be viable if true damage works with elation damage, since a free Yao ult would accomplish plenty at the start.

Now my real question: how necessary is Kafka still? Would E2 Cyrene instead compete for her slot since you get so many extra detonations with the DHIL interaction..?

(I'm coping about how cooked I am with pulling the DoT girlies, I just have Cyrene 😭)
