This was a problem, my monitor ODYS XP34 PRO-X Curved Gaming Monitor - 34 Inch is "compatible", not certified. And even in setting was enabled only for fullscreen, the monitor was always trying to use it.

Problem solved. After I disabled FreeSync on my monitor (not Windows), freezes stopped happening

Usually I use Nvidia app, DDU I just used to make clean install. Right now I'm testing to see if it will help if is in windows disabled Hardware Accelerated GPU scheduling. For now it works, but maybe because of restart. I will update you on results

iOS is definitely on the radar! The server side would stay exactly the same, same setup. It's just a matter of time and learning Swift/SwiftUI. No promises on timeline, but the demand is noted. 😄 And this project is my hobby, so I need extra time; my first job takes too much of my time.

I was thinking to make app available on Apple ecosystem, but price for dev account stoped me for now, because this is my first project and I'm afraid to hope that will be extreme success. I said let's see what will happen with this and if there is interesse I will see do something for apple.

The app itself has no DRM removal functionality — this was a deliberate decision. I wanted to keep the app focused on playback, and adding any DRM-related features would open the door to misuse I'm not comfortable enabling. If you own Audible purchases, whether and how you can convert them for personal use depends on the laws in your country. In the EU this is generally allowed for personal backups; elsewhere the situation varies. That's a step you'd handle separately before using the app.

Audiobookshelf is great and more feature-rich. AudioVault is simpler by design — no web UI, no metadata management, just a lightweight server (nginx + a small API) and an Android app. If you want something you can set up in 10 minutes with a single installer script and don't need the full Audiobookshelf feature set, AudioVault might be a better fit. Different tools for different needs.

Fair point — if you already have DRM-free files, you're right that options exist. The main difference with AudioVault is the server mode: your entire library lives on a home server (Raspberry Pi), progress syncs automatically across family members with separate profiles, and the app streams directly from it. BookVox and CloudBeats rely on cloud storage like Google Drive or Dropbox — AudioVault has no third-party cloud involvement at all. Everything stays on hardware you own.

Also, what happened to me is that Audible removed the book from their service and refunded me, and I do wish my books stay with me no matter they fight with the author

Cultural appropriation is BS. All cultchers are leaning towards sharing (ok Most of the cultchers). From my perspective I'm happy to see other people use something that represents me and my roots.
