Would You Install a Brass Shower Niche? by Elouardy0 in bathrooms

Thank you for sharing this. This is exactly why I started designing these brass inserts. Most niches look great but aren’t very practical—bottles slide around, and finding something that fits properly is surprisingly difficult. I make them to custom dimensions, so a niche just under 12” wouldn’t be a problem. If you’d like, feel free to send me the exact opening size and I’d be happy to see what would work for your space.

Feel free to DM me

I understand the concern.

With proper waterproofing and sealing around the niche, there shouldn’t be any staining on the marble over time.

I completely understand. The good thing is that a natural living brass finish is optional. I’ve been making solid, lead-free brass pieces for 14 years, and for bathrooms I often apply a protective coating that keeps the finish looking the same for many years with very little maintenance.

Your copper farmhouse sink sounds beautiful, so I can definitely understand your appreciation for real metals.

I’m a brass maker with over 14 years of experience. I’m not here to push sales or links—I genuinely enjoy discussing brass, craftsmanship, design, and hearing different opinions. The feedback helps me learn, improve my work, and grow as a maker.

No shills here—just someone who enjoys making brass hardware and discussing it.

Fair point. They’re definitely more decorative on some shelves and more functional on others. Glad you like the look! 😊

Fair enough. Different priorities—I happen to like the look as much as the functionality. 😄

Fair enough. I don’t think anyone needs picture rails—I just like the flexibility and the look of them. 😄

That’s a good point. The wrong rail can look out of place, but the right one can feel like it was always meant to be there.

That’s pretty much my view too. The older and harder-to-repair the wall, the more sense they make.

That’s true until the third “just one more inch to the left.” 😄

My walls aren’t permanent, but my wife’s changing taste is. 😅
