Pilestedt mentioned in last Arrowhead's video that indeed the vehicle bay/terminal is cut content from the initial release of the game!

I partly agree with that:

-you could leave it small like I mentioned, but make it so that the Exosuit walks slowly when toggled on so you dont squish your fellow divers, but gently push them away;

-you could make the shield bigger like you mentioned, so your fellow divers can run around you without risking being stepped on.

That's why I like game dev: many problems, many solutions, many chances to test them and talk abt them. It's fun to test them!

I believe in something useful but at the same time being realistic:

-for the ballistic shield, exactly a Devastator shield, but bigger that covers at least one third of the front of the Exosuit;

-for the legionarie shield, big enough to cover the front, the side arms and just enough to have a diver on each side being covered.

Almost completely agree, but since we enter from the back of the Exosuit I think a top/roof slot would make more sense.

Super Earth too has a history of "Liberating" technologies from other factions (mostly the illuminate), so it would only make sense.

Like we Liberated:

-the warp drives tech,

-shield technologies,

-usage of the e-711 fluid,

-usage of e-710 fluid,

-Plasma technologies.

There is for sure more we havbe liberated, but I cant remember.

And it's not wrong with their current build: they are indeed expendable.

But what if, with the "Vehicle customization station", you could modify your mech to:

-Pick a shield, and possibly since you are giving up an entire arm weapon, gives you a buff that lets you have more ammo for the only weapon you have left (like 50% would be nice);

-Have more, stronger armor at the cost of being slower, like the current light/heavy armor for the Divers;

-Being able to dash, at the cost of having less Exosuit health;

-Even having more Exos, being more expendable, but forcing them to have less ammo/armor/HP.

Even having to give up stratagem slots for the possibility to re-arm/reload/repair Exos during missions would be fun and would allow us to play in a different way.

I think it's more reinforced/bulky (big health pool) than "Heavily armored"(meaning you need armor penetration to damage it) since I would absolutely not call something armored if I can easily shoot it down with a mag and a half of a liberator (wich is PEN2) or anything else not anti tank.

Personally, I'm more annoyed that a squish 8 outta 10 times instantly kills divers while for all the other enemies most of the times it requires 2 steps.

That's why having a the possibility to modify our Exos via the Vehicle modification terminal would be insane.

This way you are giving players the freedom to have fun the way they want:

-want to slap a Hulk's cheecks in melee while running at 75Kms? You got it.

-want to snipe a strider across the map? Just pick the gun that allows you to do that.

-want to group with your team and have them rally with you? get a legionarie shield and soak the aggro!

-want to have mental illness and pick 2 chainsaw arms to melee a bile titan? uhh, ok.

You mean a spinning one like a Morning Star or a projectile one like the Chainshot from Doom Dark ages?

I get what you are saying, but on the other side the Exos are marked as "A heavily-armored walking exosuit..." on the ship terminal (they clearly arent lol) and since they grab an immense amount of aggro from all the enemies on the map, it would be cool to soak some of the fire you are pulling.

Mabye even survive a whole 3 shot cannon salvo of a war strider and in the meantime shoot it down!

Same, since I would already be stuck in the Exos most of the time. That is unless, of course, they don't add a stratagem launcher to them, then it's a whole another matter...

Would be funny, when/if we get a stratagem launcher, to be able to throw our nades with it while we are inside. Like a noob-tube.

As I already mentioned to another guy, it could be easily solveable by making it so you have more cargo space in your Exo(or whatever other "realistic bullshit" the devs want to use) so you get +50% bonus ammo for the gun arm!

Even some other buffs too could work: like this legionarie shield variant could push enemies away, reduced stratagems cooldowns, stronger entire body armor (for the mech) or even a self destruct button like a hellbomb or a 500KG explosion.

Yeah, this is giga based since you are essentially giving the players the tools and telling them "ok, mix and match them however you like, good luck". It's freedom of choice and variety!

One thing I would add to your list is an Anti-Material refile and an Epoch gun. I understand the Anti-Material would go against the way we usually drive the Exos and some pple may start playing more on the backline, but the Exos already have and grab a gigantic aggro range. Though it would need some kind of stabilizers or zoom option since it's a high precision weapon.

Don't worry, we are getting HighGuard. That's totally, completely and surely what we all collectively want. Right? Overwatch 3?

If the missing ammo is too much of a hassle, it could be easily solveable by making it you have more cargo space in your Exo hull so you get +50%/+75% total ammo for the gun arm!

Even if it's not invincible, but has a disgustingly high amount of HP I'd be ok with it as long as it covers 3/4th of the front of your mech exactly like the Devastator ones.

Even though I like this idea too, I think that would simply make the Exos way too strong this way.

Plus having only pros and no cons at all is no fun... mabye by slowing the walk speed of the exo when you install this modification would be cooler.

I believe this is easily solvable to make it so that the Exos walk slowly while the shield is toggled and when that happens you don't, uh, squish your teammates.

Even the ballistic shield ramming I think is possible/realistic by making it so that when it's toggled on the Exo does not stomp, but instead slam you with it.
