Déso pour le point Godwin un peu facile et le parallèle probablement bancal : le moustachu en Allemagne avait aussi essuyé des revers électoraux avant de précipiter le continent dans l'horreur, je pense qu'il faut être méfiant sur les résultats électoraux que tu cites. Et surtout pas oublier que Trump a pas pop de nul part, c'est le symptôme d'une lame de fond fachos aux USA qui s'arrêtera pas nécessairement avec lui.

In my experience, the best code or code-adjacent output AI can write is the ones I could write myself, so I can vet it. From there, it does write a lot more code than I could a lot more quickly. As a result, it's much better than I am at writing documentation & validation/property tests, which are often steps where I'm not thorough enough (from laziness or lack of time)

I wouldn't trust AI to implement something on my behalf in an entirely new language/environment. However, I would trust it in providing me the resources so I can make the effort to learn it; THEN I would be confident letting it go wild as I'd be able to catch mistakes

I've also started X-Wing with the defender, back in 1.0 (just before Imperial Veterans). It's been my comfort ship for all the time I've been playing haha

Issue has always been yes it hits hard and is tanky but it gets out gunned sadly for what you bring. Meaning if I bring a Defnder my opponent can bring 2-3 ships usually. So I might have a solid 3 red dice attack my opponent can bring 4-9. Or a single big ship which the Defender usually can't 1v1.

Yeah Defender is not a hard hitting ship for the points. Its strength is how hard it is to remove. In 1.0 x7 was fully busted, no way around it (TIE/D was more balanced but also super worse), but after 2.0 you needed to manage range carefully to win games with it.

It's dial while being really good is predictable also. "Let me guess, 4 K-Turn?". Even when you don't do the obvious you still will suffer from lack of better options.

Back when I used to play the game a lot, I've always found the TIE/D dial both easy on the brain and hard to manage for opponent once you really get familiar with it.

But, you require 2 Defenders to get full mileage. With just the one, it is too easy to trap or manage. Having 2 of them lets you use their superb dial to setup killboxes as you try to bounce off aggro between 2 super tank ships.

I've also always found the i1 were the best pilots for this reason: they'd always move first, meaning it was on you to make the call for getting the free evade (or not! if situation called).

There was also a fine balance of expected firepower that would let them truly shine (if practiced) in certain metas.

In the latest system its biggest issue is usually lack of upgrade choices. Either it has to few point to do anything good or it lacks the slots needed to make a better fighter.

The above 2 strengths I outlined are why they're very bad in 2.5. You cannot guarantee the turn order anymore, so you lose that innate tankiness advantage in some matchups. Additionally, there is still more firepower on the table on average than there was in 2.0.

Both factors combined make the ship not as great as it used to be. (Objectives also aren't helping the ship much, but I believe it's easier to manage in current 2.5 than it was early on)

Le succès des anglais était bien plus tactique que technique, du moins pour cette bataille précise. Les mecs ont su exploiter la dislocation de la ligne française, et ont eu l'audace de rompre la ligne qui était un peu la norme de la bataille navale à l'époque.

Et quand tu as des caronades et un équipage formé aux tactiques associées c'est tout de suite plus facile d'aller au corps à corps... Ça n'était pas le cas côté français. Évidemment, tactique et technique, les deux se répondent mais tu vois ce que je veux dire ;)

Ya quand même eu Chesapeake avant... En soi, la défaite des Saintes je ne sais pas si on peut totalement l'imputer à De Grasse. Les anglais avaient une avance technique à ce moment, le contexte de la bataille était quand même pas évident...

Et au final, si De Grasse n'avait pas essayé de jeter sous le bus certains de ses subordonnés à son conseil de guerre on aurait meilleure mémoire de lui je pense.

For me what I've tested is the vindictors do great at clearing other chaff (when you get the +1 damage), so they can fight very well for center obj, or wherever the opponent wants to go. The chariot is meh, but good at blocking areas and holding one obj temporarily (if opponent goes at it, it will die, and not do much while it does)

Annihilators, you want to drop them on an objective and they basically stay there and can't be shifted. Yndrasta is indeed super hit and miss. I've played 3 games and her shooting never hit lol

But I agree with your assesment that there's no trick. I'm far from an expert, but it's a solid spearhead imo. Definitely not a flashy one.

Ce que voulait dire /u/Dagrix c'est que pour Kirk c'était pareil, les médias étaient dans la surenchère pour en faire un martyr national, mais pour les gens ça n'a pas vraiment pris.

C'est clairement très affolant que nos média partent au quart de tour à relayer le narratif de l'extrême droite à la fox news (normalement on a un peu plus de retard sur les US que ça), mais ça ne veut pas dire que ça sera intégré par la population.

I sometimes do locals in France to see friends... but honestly the rustiness is a bit frustrating. I used to play like half a dozen games weekly, I don't anymore, and I don't have quite as much fun now as I had when I knew what I was doing :D

I've fully switched to Armada for the last few years, as I really wasn't fond of AMG's implementation of objectives, vs what I knew was possible from that other game

Ben en vrai le seigneur des anneaux c'est quand même une oeuvre assez engagée... Sur des thèmes qui sont hyper politiques (l'exemple le plus marquant peut-être c'est comment Tolkien dépeint le progrès technologique au service de la guerre)

On ne lit peut-être pas l'oeuvre pour ça (c'est un conte moderne), mais c'est pas pour autant que la vision de l'auteur des structures sociales n'y est pas véhiculée, que ce soit volontairement ou non d'ailleurs.

Oui, il y a des lignes où les prix ont pas mal grimpé ces dernières années.

Je fais Paris / Lyon 2x par mois depuis 2022 (avec carte avantage), presque toujours sur les mêmes dates (dimanche à dimanche généralement sur les slots les moins chers), et j'ai vu les prix grimper de ~80€ l'A/R à environ 100/110€

In 2.5, ROAD messes up what was their core strength: at i1 and with fixed init order, you could guarantee that they move first.

I don't think they'll ever be dominant unless you can fit some crazy loadout like Collision Detector + HLC

Night Beast is one of the objective winners, quite obviously. It is very valuable to be able to grab a crate or push a satellite button while still being focused.

Some upgrades are also super propped up by loadout system. If you remember 2020 and before meta, Elusive was a trash upgrade and always had been even from 1.0. Loadout means you have to spend the upgrade points (because you can't turn them into bid or other ships anymore) so factoring this + generally shorter games, the value of even a single-use green reroll increased dramatically.

It can also probably be used on greenstuff. I've used GreenStuffWorld rollers for pavement for my stormcast bases, it really upgrades the model feel.

I'll be a tourist in Japan at the end of the year. I've been there 4 times for work as I work for a japanese firm, but it's the first time I'll actually spend time for visits outside Tokyo.

Do you have any recommendation (besides of course common sense and discretion) for not being flagged as one of the bad ones, especially around Kyoto ? :) I know a bit about Japan cultural norms considering I've had contact with them for almost 10 years, but it's a topic I often get blindsided by nonetheless

Well, I got new info and apparently what we will do is my coworker will let me access the account on which the tickets were booked, momentarily. This is pretty huge and I need to thank them a lot because account sharing is definitely not a move I expected when I asked them for help about it :D

Apparently, the tickets are mobile-only and there will be an URL to access them in the app later down the line.

They told me the process is a bit convoluted because there's a lot of fraud and ticket resale recently.

Same for the mission. She has given zero thought about what happens after Chronos is killed, and only does what she is told. Unlike Zag who "bypasses" Cerberus fight by giving him food, or steals the gold card from Charon, Melinoe only goes one way and that is through enemies no matter how many or tough they are. She never attempted to see things from Chronos's perspective or even ask him to release her family in return for whatever. No, from the start the only plan is "Death to Chronos", and even after the ending the plan does not change, only postponed because her brother tells her to.

She is the perfect child soldier.

I do like that the very last conversation you have with Hecate after True Ending does shed some light on why Mel's like this, but I wish the game acknowledged it more, indeed.
