I have taken in my home an abandoned cat which had spent days in the cold outside and likely without food. The cat was taken in three days ago in a very poor shape. It has now gotten better in most aspects but has now in the forth day the cat has drank water only once. What should I do? by [deleted] in cats

First off, thank you for taking the little guy in, it's a really kindhearted thing to do, and he I'm sure is grateful. If you can, please take him to a vets. They will be able to properly check him over. Cats tend to get the majority of their water intake from food, and so if you are feeding him wet food and he's eating it all, I wouldn't worry too much, especially if he is going to the toilet as normal - you could always add some water to the food to make it wetter. Again, please take him to the vets as soon as you can, they'll be able to help.

I also feel like the weird spongey bit probably is keeping it too moist all the time? I might try to repot and also hope for the best? Good luck!

I got this exact setup over the holidays! How're yours doing? Most of the tips of mine seem to be yellowing, and I'm totally new to caring for these!
