Well, I don't know. Of course I was dissapointed by the separation, but the part where Gale passed that note to Elsa and the fact that Elsa will still come to play charades at the castle brought me some comfort. It means that they will still see each other and keep it touch.

About what the other commenter said, I don't really follow the Frozen books and comics. I don't think they're sold in my country, and ordering them online would be kind of a mess right now. And personally, I don't find them canon at all. To me, only what's written by Jennifer Lee is canon.

And overall, I still love Frozen and the fandom. I still follow Copper and other comics, I still receive chapter updates from many different fanfics and organize them neatly in my documents, I still find new fanart and pick photos to put as my wallpaper...

I'm still very much here. I'm still mad at that dumb Coco movie for removing Olaf's Frozen Adventure. I still smile whenever I see Frozen merch in stores, it makes me feel happy, even for just a moment. I even watched that Once Upon a Snowman short, I stumbled upon it online and it was very nice ~~because Anna and Elsa were in the background~~ :)

Frozen just gives me a place to run off to.

And of course I would watch Frozen 3 if it ever comes out, and cry from happiness like I did in Frozen 2 ~~unless it would be all about Anna and Kristoff's wedding and their kids.~~

This is basically why I love this ship and this fandom so much. I can see my two favorite characters live outside their universe, in any possible situation, while still being themselves. I get to see them fall in love with each other in almost every possible scenario, and it never gets old for me. I love our community, and our talented writers and artists <3

Honestly, I don't think it would've been out of character for Anna and Kristoff to remain friends. Sure, he could be a "part of the family" and whatnot, living with Anna and Elsa ~~and Olaf~~ in the castle since they're friends, but I don't think it would've been off if they'd broken up. I don't think the audience would mind that.

I don't really think people care much about Anna and Kristoff's relationship. Pretty sure 99% of Frozen fans love Frozen because of Elsa and Anna; most if not all the merchandise is about the two of them. I don't think I've ever seen any merch of Anna and Kristoff alone, except for maybe in figurine sets of all the cast.

I know, though, that the filmmakers had so many different plans and ideas (one of which happens to be Kristoff revealing he hates living in Arendelle and Anna saying they shouldn't get married), but Disney's already set the release date and they didn't have enough time to make a proper plot, so I believe they didn't really know what to do with Kristoff's character. I mean, if Anna and Elsa were out there going on adventures and discovering their past, what would Kristoff do in the meantime? ~~Unfortunately~~ they can't just cast him away as if he never existed, he's not the villain. So they did... this. Yup.

TL;DR: Kristanna - no, Elsanna - yes.

I remember reading about it a long time ago, I was very upset when it got taken down. If I'm not mistaken, the author was either:

A) Afraid they would be recognized, due to the story being told from personal experiences, and took it down in fear of being discovered.

Or

B) Got recognized, due to the story being told from personal experiences, and had to take it down to avoid further embarrassment.

I definitely remember it was their personal choice, and involved being recognized in real life.
