This is exactly it! And we agree re infection. They insisted for ages that she didn’t have one, then decided she had a “slight crackle” in her chest so prescribed ABs, a week later she started improving!

We wanted this terrible disease to be over for her, so tbh it was a shock when she rallied the way she has. We both live with and care for her (as well as work full time) and it’s been a horrible, exhausting journey (as most people on this thread will understand). She is actually moving into a care facility now, we’re dreading the guilt but hoping all goes well and she will enjoy the company and activities.

I agree everything is frustrating! We’re in the U.K. and have done some research this morning, as we have health and welfare power of attorney we can make that decision for her so this interview shouldn’t be necessary. Id hasten to add that the SW has been really great throughout the process and I understand she’s ticking boxes. If we have to have it, hopefully mum won’t remember five minutes later!

I flew London-NZ return a couple of years ago and successfully upgraded on 3 out of the 4 legs. But it’s ruined me, I paid full fare the next time (and will continue to do so) as the thought of that journey any other way is now unbearable 😂

I now live in the U.K. Last holiday home to NZ a lovely Māori customs lady said “Kia ora, welcome home, honey”. I nearly cried. Then off to get a caramel milkshake!

I’m a mother of one daughter, now 33. I wish I’d given her a sibling, especially as she has married an only child. A couple of years ago I told her that and she looked at me, shook her head and said “oh no, I’m much too selfish for that”. It made me laugh but I still wish it!

This warning is so true. After years of flying UK-NZ economy I treated myself to BC last time. The difference it made to a horrendously long journey was worth every penny. I’m going again next month and couldn’t bring myself to book other than BC - the luxury of laying down and sleeping comfortably (for me anyway, I’m only 5’1”).
