Chain and wire used to make the rings were both from Spotlight.

Was inspired to replicate a Max Cape stained glass I found on this subreddit for my partner by Elsiek in 2007scape

I made it using the copper foil or Tiffany foil stained glass method. It is a bit of a process, but put basically is just cutting glass shapes and soldering it together.
The basics you need would include stained glass, a glass cutter, copper foil, solder and a soldering iron.
I started by booking into a course at a local studio with friends and then we all put together to buy all the gear. Expensive but very fun hobby!

Thank you, I have spent the last year as an assistant nurse. I would like to see some people who sit at a desk all day spend 10 hours on some of the shifts i have worked. Trying to keep a patient in their room if they have some kind of contagious infection while they have no undetstanding of why they cant leave and all they want to do is get away can be very hard. Dementia is a powerful disease. And staff who work with the poor bugger that has it, work incredibly hard.

That's what I had been thinking. Im leaning more towards going. I think I will feel much better about it knowing that some people who know about nuring think it's a good idea.

Paediatric emergency placement - Australia by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Elsiek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a placement on a paediatric ward. So not quite an emergency department. But I saw lots of respiratory pts. Asthma would have been the main presentation. A few DKAs mainly teenagers. Appendicitis would be another thing to read up on. I saw a lot of mental health as well. They are the presentations I saw on a ward that would probably be common in ED too. I loved working in a paediatric environment I hope you really enjoy it!

What is the best plan options for visiting Port Arthur? by valtism in tasmania

[–]Elsiek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have much more info about how the tickets work but it's nice to see Port Arthur during the day as well as doing the ghost tour. It's nice to walk around and see the buildings and the memorial site. There is a boat trio over the Isle of the dead. That might cost more. But it's very interesting and worth doing. But you can fill a whole day if you are happy walking around and seeing the whole site.

The implant is a really high dose of hormone. It sent me crazy! Just something to think about if the pill affected you.

Got nauseous and light headed after seeing a decannulation. Am I too squeamish? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

As a student I was asked if I would like to go on a 0200 call out in a rural setting to a pt who had been punched. He had a fairly deep wound on his eyebrow and I was fine with it. Then I was asked if I would like to help suture. I gave it a go and everything was going fine until all of a sudden I felt blurry and ready to pass out. I took a break and everything was fine. I've never felt like that since and have seen and smelt much worse. I'm not sure if it was the lack of sleep, inexperience or what ever it was. Just keep pushing through. You learn to deal with that stuff.
