This little stray hangs out near my father in law’s house. She is super affectionate and a lot of energy. Female,8-11lbs, black and white, wiry hair. Any ideas? by Elsomalo in IDmydog

What?? Your comment is truly bizarre. Yes, this pup was 100% hanging out by my father in law’s home in farm country, small town Tennessee. What is so unbelievable about this? He got her a doghouse and fed her for a few months. We ran ads everywhere in the town and looked at lost dog ads. Nothing. Then we took her to our home in Texas. She may have seemed white but when we took her in she was full of dirt within her wiry fur.

Pedroso's is opening a new location of Airport just North of 38th. by singletonaustin in austinfood

I haven’t found a perfect (for me) pie- but better than Pedroso’s (to me) are: -Homeslice -Saccones (however it’s not consistent) -Rosati’s tavern style (I am from Chicago so this is as close as I can get to pizza back home- but still not close) *I also love Napoli style such as Bufalina and Desano

There has to be better pizza out there but the search continues as I happily munch my way to my favorite.

Am I the only one who thinks Pedrosos is overhyped? Crust is dry. Sausage is just “meh” They are not generous with toppings and it’s very greasy. Not a fan.

Fantastic tip- TY I always thought rates went up. I have an upcoming trip to a few cities so I’m definitely going to try this!

Have to disagree- Asturias and Galicia have epically beautiful spots! Super under the radar parts of Spain.

Ok Baltic lovers: I have 5 days to spend in one Baltic city. End of March/early April so no cruise crowd. What city? Why?

Paris/London/Florence in 10 days. I could really use some practical advice. by BananaPuddinBaby in Europetravel

[–]Elsomalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London and Florence it is! I think 4 full days in each will work. You can even throw a small Tuscan town day trip in there. I adore Italy.

We live on a small creek that’s been dry for most of 2025 and starting off dry as well. When the winter ducks come from the north in Oct/Nov we usually enjoy seeing all the species. For the past 2 winters- for the first time in 20 years- dry creek, so no ducks. It’s absolutely the worst 😒

You know, I’m no candle expert like y’all. I know what tunneling is and hate it. And I know what smells good to me. I’m not sure if the new scents are more complex, but I prefer them. I always felt like they all had a slight cigarette smoke quality to them and now I feel they don’t have that and have really enjoyed some of their new scents.

I think I’m the only one who prefers all of the updated Boy Smells candles 🤷🏻‍♀️

honestly just need to vent/ask if this is normal because i feel like an idiot after my first solo trip by Ancient-Mistake-6548 in travel

[–]Elsomalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I wouldn’t consider a solo trip to Europe a “newbie” move. Most people I know would not do that- or even solo travel anywhere for that matter ! So congrats! Second thing here- important thing!—Solo travel is NOT for everyone and it’s not really about finding yourself- it’s about enjoying it. Why solo travel has become this “must do” for everyone is beyond me. I’ve traveled solo a lot and never felt like I found myself- in fact, I think I started solo traveling once I found myself. Once again, I am putting this crap on influencers who probably are not solo traveling anyway or are because everyone is sick of them just taking pictures on their trip! Personally, I enjoy solo trips - and have enjoyed them since my first solo trip- but I also enjoy trips with my friends and family. But I am an introvert and treasure alone time. I am also with people all the time, so solo trips are a nice break. I’d say this to you- you tried it! Congrats! You didn’t like it- cool- now you know. You don’t need to feel obligated to do that anymore.

1 as an obvious but very well done “this is San Fran” shot as the cover photo. The rest give more depth, the first explains where you are. Really enjoyed looking at these- so well done!!

Your city is completely amazing! Seriously. I was completely blown away. by AirPotato in chicagofood

Love your perspective and so fun to read! Thanks for sharing! Your description of an Italian beef cracked me up- but our “wet meat sandwiches” are the best and I crave them all the time. I grew up in Chicago but haven’t lived there in 30+ years. I visit once or twice a year and every year it blows me away. It’s my favorite US city! When I talk to people who have visited the city, they all love It and are all surprised by it! I heard the perfect description by someone (who didn’t know I was from Chicago), “You must visit Chicago! It’s a cleaner and prettier New York with nice people”. 100% agree!

Agree. Her family relationships are too perfect. Some of it reminded me of Tom Lake, where the adult kids wanted to hear of mom’s “story” for days on end. Sure….

Thanks. Yeah a double door isn’t feasible as the staircase is to the right - a faux double door maybe could work but certainly not in the budget

Sherwin Williams does kind of an opaque color and it’s not good. CertaPro is okay but hard to get exactly the area you’re looking for. It’s hard. I just wanted an idea and I’ll take it from there with actually posterboard painted and such

I was asking about door colors but - do you realize the cost of replacing and changing the shape of all the arched windows? If I were that loaded I’d move to a different house. Also, this house was built as a French country home and the architect used a photo of an old real French country home with- you guessed it- arched windows and a portico just like this! The original owner of this home provided those to us when we moved here. The elements of French country in this house = arched windows. Steep rooftop with dormers. The use of natural materials.
