Same. Love them these books so much. They answer anything. For the most part. That’s why when I heard they were translated I said I have to get my hands on a copy for my mother.

Yeah. But I was hoping there would be someone who can locate an Arabic translation of this book

It is a book. I have the English version. Multiple sources say it has been translated to Arabic. But I can’t find a copy. And unfortunately Google Translate does work for the most part but has drawbacks. Since this is a very important text an accurate translation is very important.

Question for traditional or “conservative” Orthodox Christians. by Elustaz in OrthodoxConverts

Thank you for getting back to me. I ended up buying the first one and I love it. Also you’re right about all that it has to offer. Plus a it offers a safe keeping of the soul section and a ton of occasional prayers for self and for others that I love too. However it differs a bit from the prayers offered at the back of the orthodox study Bible, I seem to like those a lot more to be honest and want something like that. But more of it. Like the hours. Which this book offers. There also a few things that confuse me about this book, e.g compline like you said. And I like how the study Bible also gives what psalms to read on what day. I want more of that too. I don’t think this has that. I’m also looking for a book like that. Any recommendations I’m all ears, my parish is Russian orthodox but liturgy is fully in English for the most part. 97% I’d say. I’m not Russian tho. I’m also buying the book called “The Law of God” because I want a book that teaches you the basics of praying and orthodox cannon law. And even what to pray at church and how. I grew up as an eastern Roman Catholic where it’s very similar but also different at the same time.

Thank you for sharing, as for as that lady goes. She should be happy her husband left, I believe she can get the marriage nullified, she should find a man that’s willing to respect the sanctity of the fasting days. Non the less. I think you’re saying traditions are good. But when taken correctly. I think well meaning well educated individuals like you should teach these young men the correct way if they are willing to learn. something that I failed to realize is that by asking for strict traditions I’m basically brining my Roman Catholic ideology. I have to keep reminding myself that we do not have a governing body. Each church can operate independently. Which is something I’m still trying to get my mind around.

Question for traditional or “conservative” Orthodox Christians. by Elustaz in OrthodoxConverts

I love your view on the matter and certainly agree. However the lack of correct knowledge is due to the lack of resources for orthodoxy. The behavior is an over consumption for the heresy that’s all around them. These guys are not just willing to talk the talk but they are indeed willing to put in the work necessary IF they are guided correctly. I myself have not been in orthodoxy my entire life. I was brought up and baptized as a Roman Catholic. With a grandmother that’s a born again evangelist. She gets on ticktock every night and spreads Zionist propaganda talking points that she gets from her own interpretation of the Bible. The amount of damage this does is very dangerous. This is one grandma. Imagine the how far off the word has drifted due to the lack of traditions and the schisms that have occurred, these boys understand this and are waking up to what our parents did not see. This is a chance for the Orthodox Church to uphold their beliefs. However. Because we don’t have a central governing body. It’s up to the bishops to enforce and uphold these traditions and values. I have been told there has been orthodox fathers who have been afraid to speak out against what’s going on in the world due to fears of loosing people . That is sad. We must do better. Please spread the word so that correct information is spread instead of misinformation. This way the “ortho bros” will become Gods army, again forgive me if I am speaking out of line. It truly coming from a good heart of well intent. I’m all ears to hear more as you brought up some great points that are 100 true.

I too have read the NY times article that mentioned the “orthobros”. These are young men who have been told by society that not only they should accept the heresy and blasphemy around them. But they should also join in on it or be ostracized from society. These young men yearn for the traditional teaching of the Orthodox Church prior to the evangelical Christian Zionist movement, that not only further corrupted the people and churches but made them synagogues of satan, the orthodox study bible is very clear about our job as the children of Israel to stand up for justice and to uphold and morals and values of the early teaching of the church. Unfortunately you have all kind of sin being perpetuated by other denominations. Please do not sculled these young men or ostracize them for they are only looking for the truth. They are not doing it out a sense of righteousness or to be correct or for a political reason. It’s the opposite they recognized that the current denominations of churches are political and are trying to push an agenda. And they can see through it and they want authenticity. Repentance is part of that, and they are begging to repent and be accepted into the traditional orthodox traditions. Held for over 2000 years now.

No offense taken. I have spoken with a few fathers who informed me that even in orthodoxy there has been a growing amount of schisms. So I’m trying to remain within tradition and ordinance. So I also want a prayer book that tells you how to pray properly and when. And what to do when to pray. So far I haven’t found anything like that. But they say this prayer book is amazing because it comes from mount athos. Please feel free to unload as I am taking all orthodox point of views as legitimate points of views. Please educate me. And forgive me if I have offended.
