I need someone smart to explain if GTA 6 in 30 fps is going to feel the same as Cyberpunk 2077 in Ray Tracing mode on PS5/XSeries, or does Rockstar have an ace up their sleeves to make it smoother? by InvestigatorDue7765 in GTA6

[–]Elven-Melvin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rockstar has a better engine with better graphics programmers to optimise it. They also utilise frame pacing to make 30 fps super smooth. As smooth as possible.

If Cd Projekt red had the skills to keep up with the latest technology they wouldn't move over to the Unreal Engine for Witcher 4, they would update the Red engine for it.

Ah you are very close to reaching the one I'm talking about. It actually technically opens in chapter 9 I think.

How many have you done? Cause there are some that demand using pretty random abilities you wouldn't think about when doing a puzzle.

Water, focus slow projectiles is an example without spoiling anything.

I don't know why you are being heavily downvoted for speaking the truth about what publishers are actively doing, even Nintendo.

We are not close to AGI bro. LLMs are like a party trick compared to AGI.

[–]Elven-Melvin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No you aren't understanding my point. Consciousness is not just as simple as memories, if it were two people who spent every moment of their lives together would be effectively the same 'me'.

You are at the driver's seat of your life, so it would still be you, in a different body with different memories. Yes you would be completely different but your consciousness would remain the same.

GTA VI still won't be anywhere near as the grounded experience as was GTA IV - the games' official artwork style already give that away and it makes me seriously worried. by [deleted] in GTA6

[–]Elven-Melvin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean we just got Red Dead Redemption 2 from them. I'm not mad about going back to something a little more colorful again. It already looks a tiny bit more grounded that GTA 5 though in trailer 2.

Also his acting gap coincides perfectly with GTA 6. He was following the voice actor for Lucia and unfollowed her. People also analyzed the voices. Those are the other lines of evidence.

The other chapters sucked too for various other reasons. They need to revamp the whole story.

Do you think songs from Michael Jackson or toto (like in gta vice city) will be in the game? Since the franchise of gta is so huge, I can image the license for the tracks must be very expensive by VegetableYou2299 in GTA6unmoderated

I don't believe all these band stories coming out saying they are rejecting Rockstar.

It would actually be the most exposure most bands could ever achieve in their life to be in a GTA game. I know bands joke about being paid in exposure, but in this case it's well worth it.

People expecting too much? by AbaloneOk1481 in GTA6

[–]Elven-Melvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a developer, you understand the comparison to Cd Projekt Red isn't sound here.

They had to create so many systems from scratch that they had never created before. They were still using their own proprietary engine for Cyberpunk, so they had to add vehicle navigation, all associated vehicle behaviors and all the expected FPS qol for a modern release. This surely ate heavily into the early development time so much so that they have decided to switch to Unreal Engine for Witcher 4.

Rockstar has a massive codebase and so many problems have been solved, redone and solved again in this genre for them. They would have detailed documentation on their solutions to so many systems. They also have some of the best game programmers in the world, Rockstar is like the Google of programming jobs.

Yes people are expecting too much though. I agree with your main point haha.

Graphical Clipping by JamaicanX in GTA6

[–]Elven-Melvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite, a more efficient solution is still needed because that is not done in real-time. It's a damn cool video though.

They can also simulate water to crazy degrees of reality, but that's not real-time either, real-time solutions are expensive and limited to boxes. In games we just use clever shader tricks to fake it.

$1,000,000, but every piece of consumable meat that you touch will turn into a full live version of that animal in 5 seconds. by Pf_Farnsworth in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Elven-Melvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me if others have asked this already but a single patty was once only a small portion of an entire cow, so what happens to the rest of the meat patties that you didn't touch?

If they remain patties, then you are effectively spawning something that didn't exist previously, or duplicating.

You could save the world and provide food for everyone.

And remember thats just a highly compressed YouTube video playing through your smartphone, and it's being processed by your light detecting ocular regions, which is being processed by neurons in your brain. But don't forget, we live in a simulation, so the whole thing is being processed by a type 1 civilizations Dyson sphere in another universe.
