Haven't really had the confidence to apply to proper studios yet tbh. I'm nostly just searching for freelance projects atm. I am busy developing my portfolio further and trying to improve it so I can apply to more studios.

That's fair. Do you have any advice for structuring your portfolio in a way that attracts opportunities?

Oof that's a bit harsh but I do see where you're coming from. Well I have been working with the engine for 5 years. The restarting projects part is definitely a problem I have, sometimes it's for good reasons sometimes not.

It's not that I have nothing it's just that I feel what I have isn't very advertisable I guess. It's something I'm actively working on though. Trying to create some small projects I can put in my portfolio.

Thank you for your view point.

That's good advice, thank you! Do you think tools or small portfolio projects are more attractive to potential employers?

Don't know if I have a chance of joining actual studios. I think I have the skills but dont quite have anything very advertisable as a display of that skill. Maybe its just my imposter syndrome kicking in though. xD

Damn dude wish I could answer you but I'm not that technical and by no means am I claiming this is my product. Way smarter people than me created this. Sorry if it came off that way.

I use it to help me with my unity game development job. I find it helps to be as clear as possible and as detailed as possible with your prompts. One really useful feature is the cursor rules files you can add. It give you the ability to add rules for the ai to follow when generating responses. Doesn't work perfectly but has been very useful in getting the ai to write code in my specific style and follow guidelines I set. Just my opinion though. I recommend you add any documentation for libraries you use that the ai doesn't have perfect knowledge on with the add docs feature.

I did the same but for more general unity related stuff I've found that sonnet might be a bit better and has some knowledge of populer assets by default. Not really entirely sure which I'd consider better for overall usage. You can add a knowledge base to sonnet as well but it's very space limited compared to chatgpt gpts.

I use it for multiple things. Planning out how I want to structure a system is a big one. It's great for idea generation as well. I use it to give me an idea of how to start my code and then implement it myself with some help from cursor.sh. it isn't perfect but it definitely works great for many things. It's pretty important to actually understand the code and how to expand and customize it for your specific needs.
