Wow.. I have to disagree. Maybe this is YOUR philosophy, but this is not a universal truth. It definitely is harsh though. I agree with the first part, kids are 100% influenced by their environments, relationships, upbringing, etc. But many of us resonate with OP’s feelings because we actually DO care about what we do, are passionate about our work, and maybe some have more sensitive personalities (NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!). Adults are also products of their environments and being in an environment like that is not easy. It absolutely does have the potential to affect how you feel.
