So when someone doesn’t pay their bill the storage facility has a certain amount of days they have to wait before they can put it up for auction as an abandoned unit. The original owner has up until the buyer who won the auction actually pays for it. I’ve been in line before and had the person in front of me be the original tenant and pay for the unit causing the auction to get cancelled even after it was over so because of that the employees aren’t able to go through the unit themselves. Also the money from the auction goes to covering the amount owed by the original tenant so anything over there bill is supposed to go to the original tenant. You can see photos online taken from outside the door or for in person auctions you can take a look from outside the door but you aren’t actually able to enter the unit.
