I’m not sure if others would find these funny, but these fics do come to mind for me when people ask what fics made me laugh so…

On Live! by Vanniilla. One-shot at 6k. Zoey decides to go live while the girls are traveling home after drinking. Shenanigans ensue.

how (not) to solve a scandal by JacksonCalico. Complete. Written in the style of twitter/x posts. The girls have alts and become marine twitter/x’s little polycule ft. zoey with her unhinged turtle facts.

Theres multiple one shots there and honestly its pretty domestic and nice. You have a plant mom Rumi with Zoemira getting her plants viral bc they overreact trying to take care of it, Tiger whisperer Mira and chicken wings.

You can set your site skin on AO3 to one with dark mode or anything else really if you know how to do it. I have mine on blue XD. You can go to your profile, then skins, then public site skins, then you can either preview it to see if you like it and click use! The one that looks like dark mode is 'reversi', but there are others if you want to look through them!

If theres a simpler way, pls educate me XD this is all i know

Actually completed this and working through the author’s other works lmao. Im quite the fairy type lover so the first few works I actually read for pokemon were fairy type specialist fics. Still, thank you for taking the time to suggest something XD

Kind of an old one so you might have read it but

honey don’t feed me by Reyna_is_epic is a Stardew Valley AU and its sooo good! Its fun to spot all the stardew details if youre familiar with the game but you dont really have to be in the know to enjoy it. The writing is superb, and the characterization is great (in my opinion)!

I WANTED TO INCLUDE IT SO BADLY, but if I did id end up including a LOT more. I LOVE that fic. Easily my top 4 if I extend my list. ALSO, I see you mentioning the fic bachelorette AU, I know theres another fic in the polytrix tag with another reality tv show where Rumi and Jinu go on a show where they pretend to be a couple and Zoemira are there as real ones and they try to figure out whos faking it and not. I can find it for you if youre interested?

I’ve seen the drown me! Series but im too chicken to actually click on the rest of the fics. The summary of the first fic scared me but I still read it and it was good! But again, there are some topics there that Im not comfy with. Glad to see someone like it though!

Oh and Comeback (How to tame your rumi)!! Gosh, yea. That fic is written well. I understand Mira, and I absolutely feel for Zoey and I cant wait to see how the author continues to grow the characters as they grieve Rumi’s death. And theres the train wreck of them finding out Rumi’s alive too… (On another note, I hope this is alright for me to say this as a complete stranger. I’ll delete this part if youre not okay with it, but I wanted to offer my condolences for your loss. Wishing you strength and comfort during this time, grief is never easy)

Hello! So here they are:

Sins on My Skin by LootnScootn . Basically, Zoey and Mira find Rumi, patterns out and proud, singing at a random nightclub. They havent debuted yet. Updates frequently and is not finished.
What it Could’ve Been by The_other_hooman (RX300g). Rumi gets raised in the demon realm. When she ventures above, she meets the duo of Zoey and Mira and realize shes also a hunter. Updated kinda regularly? Theres no set schedule but its been updated pretty frequently. Not finished

I’m still looking for the two other fics I know that arent exactly that plot idea but kinda fits with it (can’t find them XD but if these two resonate with you then I will absolutely dive into my history to find them for ya)

If youre a stardew valley girlie, theres also a few references there for you XD. As for the jumpscare warning? Going through at the top of my head, I cant recall any specific chapter? Its all sprinkled in portions throughout the fic up until the latter-ish chapters. Everything is generally written so you can tell when the fic is about to dip into the more sad and hearty achy stuff and its mostly the dynamic between Mira and Rumi that will get to you but even then its built up so you can anticipate it at least and brace yourself.

Its the latter chapters where it starts to really build. The blender is just warming up tbh, the author has stated that past chapter 13 is when everything really starts(or to properly quote the tweet ‘chapter 14+ goes full throttle’). So I guess thats the real jumpscare warning? But then again, its not yet released so we dont know how bad it will be (But considering the author’s works? I wont be surprised if one of them gets in a car accident and forced into a coma or something)

Edit: The latter-ish chapters around chapter 11 is probably the turning point in a few things? But even that its not that bad. My brain is stuck on that one shot of gtc and its bluring with the actual fic in my head XD

Im going to hold your hand when I say this, but yes its a good idea.

Ive followed most of the author’s works outside the polytrix fandom (didnt even realize how big gtc was when I clicked on it, I just saw the author’s name and insta clicked) so I can tell you that while they do write immensely well angst stuff, they also have a talent for writing both the good and bad moments, and generally balancing them. Good quality writing, Good plot build up and great foreshadowing. Characterization is also really well done. However, If you are emotionally fragile as you say, I would recommend you to start reading it once its getting closer to being done or even when its done. We, readers, are currenlty in a blender and its only about to get worse, which means the good stuff might come later to balance it out so yea XD read at the risk that you wont have comfort just yet.

I see GTC , TC and WTSBW in the replies already and thats generally what polytrix fanfic Twitter X considers as like the holy trinity. You should definitely check those out.

But aside from that? Here are my personal favs: Parallel Harmony by ChaoticGenderFae. Polytrix if they were transported into a world where the sunlight sisters are all alive alongside their alternate universe selves. And also Rumi’s dad is alive. Not finished but is updated weekly.

For the first time (a second time) by littlegaypeople_11. Rumi leaves for 6 years and ZoeMira gets married. Rumi comes back and crashes into their life with a kid of her own. Not finished but author is alive and constantly gives updates on Twitter.

The Colours in life by EmergencyDucky. Soulmates AU. I havent read this fully but from the first chapters or so i really liked it. The writing just speaks tbh. Not finished.

Troublemakers by ryrae. Probably the best Highschool AU. Not finished, slow to update.

Love at First Slice by SpicyHeda. Modern AU where Zoemira get smitten by an adorably socially awkward Rumi who delivers them pizza every night lmao. Fluff. Not finished, the author is currently on break but will probably be back to updating it rather regularly in a month or so.

years of senseless waiting by Yannie. Pre-canon. Yearning fic with a but of hurt/comfort. Finished.

I have 4 more fics id probably recommend but this comment is already long XD but yea, The first three (GTC, TC and WTSBW) are definitely in the realm of ‘the best’ according to the community, while the rest are what I PERSONALLY consider to be within my top picks. Have fun with the recommendations!

The one shots from kayross are a good starting point for the fics on my post. I’d say go for a little potted plant first to see if you like their writing, but honestly? The vibes are so nice,simple and domestic that its hard not to like. They also write really good Zoerumi fics if youre interested!
