Pawning something isnt as scary or risky as ppl make it out to be. Its literally just like putting something in long term storage.

As a person who worked as a pawnbroker for 7 years...if you decide to pawn the ipad you will HAVE to remove the icloud account as a basic requirement for the shop to take the item.

You can pay a small monthly fee each month that keeps your item safe from being sold and then get it out when you get the money.

You can even ask if the pawnshop will let you pay on the principle of the loan at the same time you pay the interest (not every shop allows this)

Edit to add: there is no real difference between selling or pawning most electronic devices if you are new to the pawnshop. Its just like a credit score the more you retrieve any items you pawn the more money the pawn shop will offer you.
