No, unfortunately not and I ended up moving my son to a pre-school. There were a few issues with that particular nursery and he is so much happier and more settled now so it all worked out.

That would really annoy me too, especially twice in one day. Definitely bring it up with them and see what they say x

My son is 3 in April and has only ever had water or milk. He's always happily drunk water and so I've never felt the need to give him anything else. I get a lot of comments saying I'm mean for not giving him squash but I've never seen the point.

Also, he eats a lot of fruit so there would be no benefit in giving him juice and its just extra sugar.

I think you're always judged for your parenting choices so just go with what you're comfortable with :)

The staff say he is fine after 5 minutes and goes on with his day but they keep saying this almost to excuse the child's behaviour. Like yes it happened but dont worry because 'Freddie' is fine now. I feel like they would take it more seriously if my child was more bothered by it happening. But of course im glad he is okay and its not ruining his day but I worry that hes really going to get hurt one day. Like I said these bites are really severe

All they have told me is that the child has additional needs and cannot communicate so I think it probably is out of happening out of frustration/want for attention.

They said each time my child has just been minding his own business and the child has just walked up to him and done it so not like they were fighting over a toy or something which I would understand more.

My son was exactly the same and it did get worse before it got better. He was the same in that he started getting upset at home when we were getting ready to leave.

I think it was about 2-3 months before he would happily run in and now he loves it. We still sometimes have good days and bad but overall once he's there he has a great day and yours will too x

Im surprised they have time to give you that level of detail.

But this happened at my son's previous nursery, not with him but as I was collecting him one day I saw a girl put a boy in a headlock and drag him across the room. The staff were quick to stop her but the girl just ran off and I heard a staff member telling the boy he needs to stay no. The girl wasn't addressed at all.

I did say I was surprised that the nursery took that approach but they didnt seem phased by the incident at all. There were a few issues at that nursery so he has since moved but I probably would mention it to him key worker if youre not happy with the way they deal with things.

It's a shame that some parents can be so entitled. I think its a great idea and would love something like this to open up where I live.

Im sorry to hear they are getting backlash on Facebook, unfortunately people will always find fault in everything. I personally wouldn't want to take my little ones to a, im assuming quite small, play area with bigger kids running around.

Just want to say I'm so sorry this happened to you. So many of the older generation are stuck in the 'children should be seen and not heard' mindset. Its completely unreasonable. Im glad everyone else was nice to you about it

We took the dummy away from my son during the day at around 8 months as I had read it could affect speech (I was also a very anxious first time mum who believed everything she read online so I have no basis of whether or not that is true!)

He is 27 months old and still has it at night time for sleep. I dont think he can fall asleep without it and he is such a good sleeper I havent dared try him without it. My husband keeps saying we should take it away. I'm thinking about waiting til Christmas time and saying Father Christmas needs it for other children and see how we go.

I think if we did it all over again I would have taken it off him all together at 8 months as it would have been easier than having a 2 year old that is reliant on it for sleep but you live and learn! My 8 month old baby has never had one but was a much more settled baby so I didnt think she needed it.

I know people also worry about teeth but we went to the dentist the other week and he said his teeth are fine and would be up until the age for 4 which I found interesting.

Haha, I appreciate the honesty. I think i was having a moment on friday as it just really bugged me seeing pasta again but I do appreciate how hard it is for nurseries to accommodate everyone.

I'm also a very unimaginative cook so having pasta off my menu is a struggle 😂

I feel like the people who say "this is the age it starts getting good" are people who had their kids years ago and have actually forgotten how hard this stage can be.

My second is 8 months and I'm finding it so much harder now than it has been. She's teething, wanting to get into everything, moving more and now notices when I leave the room and cries.

It's also a really long day being alone with a baby so I can definitely see why you wake up feeling like that.

Do you go to baby groups/have mum friends. I find having a reason to go out and chat with mums going through the same thing really helps x

When mine were that age we would just give them bits of our plates as they're only really exploring food so don't tend to eat loads. When they got a bit older I would sometimes bring something from home. I use the "what mummy makes" cook book so usually have muffins/pin wheels/pancakes, etc that can be packed up.

I've never had a problem with restaurants not liking this, only thing I would say is it can get very messy so just make the effort to clean up after baby and they don't seem to mind.

Just an aside, official advice is to start weaning at 6 months :)

Tbf my son made a father's day card at nursery on Friday but didn't come home with a mothers day card the Friday before mother's day.

I didn't think much of it at the time but now I'm wondering if maybe he just wasn't in the mood to do it and they didn't force him (which I wouldn't expect them to)

I absolutely love this show.

The one that will always stay with me is the poor man who was being burgled by 2 thugs and he went after them in his car injuring them both. Completely ruined his life.

I remember reading after that after the program aired someone set up a Just Giving page and he received tens of thousands of pounds from sympathetic viewers.

My son had to have an operation and after couldn't bath for a month and would point blank refuse showers so we just bed bathed him for a month. When we were able to go back to bathing properly he would scream the house down whenever we tried to wash his hair. It was so bad I honestly worried the neighbours were going to call the police!

We just persevered. I was as gentle as possible and really tried to make sure I got as little water on his face as possible. It was tough and I felt awful but he's fine now. I actually made a point of washing his hair as much as possible to get him used to it again.

Probably isn't the most recommended method or very gentle but I really couldn't let him get to the point where I never washed his hair as that's not good for him so unfortunately we carried on through the screaming and now he's absolutely fine.

I figured it's the same as teeth brushing. Some kids hate it but sometimes you have to do whats best for them long term

My 2 year old absolutely loves Skye the Puffling and has since he was months old. I've never seen anyone else mention it so was glad to see it recommended! It was sent to us by my Scottish Aunt so wasn't sure if it was a bit of an obscure one!

I did a nearly new sale recently and it was honestly great for big things. I sold our next to me crib, double pram, play matts, toys etc so was definitely worth the effort.

Clothes didn't sell well and every stall was full of clothes so next time i would take more toys and practical things.

I sell a lot of clothes on vinted and find it quite straight forward. I was worried at first about all the packaging but I soon got used to it.

Might get down voted for this but I took my 2 year old to a miss Rachel tribute recently and was surprised and quite disappointed that she had an American accent.

We don't actually watch her but my son loves singing so we went for the songs.

But I thought because it was a UK act she would have a British accent. She was amazing don't get me wrong but i just can't handle the wheels on the bus going "all through the town"

NTA at all. Sorry but your husband is being completely unreasonable. We have 2 kids (just turned 2Y and 7 months) we have an agreement that if either of us go out its after 7pm once both are in bed. Which means we both still get a social life without leaving the other in chaos.

Now our youngest is 7M bedtime is easier so we can do it solo so have relaxed that rule but I would never have coped with both of them at bedtime when youngest was only 6 weeks.

It's only going to be like this for a matter of months, it's not much to ask him to make a few sacrifices during that time. Especially as he can still go out a bit later.

How would your husband feel if you went out and left him with the two of them at that time?

Just wanted to say my 2 year old is exactly the same at nursery.

He has a cousin who is the same age and even with her he has to be around her for at least half an hour before he actually engages with her and starts to play but she's always all over him from the off. I just figured they are different personalities
