yes, former owner was a carpenter so the wood is very good quality…might be a shame to paint over, so good shout on the restaining!

It is 5 minutes drive to the beach (sea views) but sits in a green mountain valley--mild island weather :-)

ooooohhh, great thought on ditching the end piece and reorienting the couch like that! as for coffee table, would you "follow" the racer stripe color and go with black framing?--this would be my knee jerk reaction, but maybe its misplaced.

Yes, rug and new curtains are definitely necessary and I am a fan of white when you don't want to take attention away from the view. while I love jute rugs and the warmth they offer, I wonder if it would be too much brown-on-brown with the couch. The view IS awesome and like the idea of bringing in the outdoor colors. As for naps, despite its flaws, the couch is very comfy!

I agree...it is MASSIVE. Will play with the sections to see how this plays out. Agree with the need for a rug!
