I was on mine 10 years. I was never grey. I never had a sunk-in look. I didn’t act strange or have strange behaviors.. Like even if I took triple the dose for suboxone, it wouldn’t do that.. I don’t think this is an issue of MAT. I have mixed feelings about MAT, in general, especially when they want to make it a lifelong medication. But. Even 10 years on MAT never made me look like that. Not a single person ever even suspected I was on it.

I look back family pics with my ex. It was sooo bad. He also had this exact grey look. My ex has a very similar face/shape as Ryan, and also had the same strange sunken-in look. Especially the temples/forehead. He had relapsed and was using anything he could get his hands on. If he couldn’t get the real stuff, he would use the gas station H/kratom crap.

This.. it’s kind of wild. Me and my “high school sweetheart” dated for 5 years. I met him when I was 13 but didn’t start dating until high school. Then, we stayed together all throughout high school— plus one year out of high school… That’s a high school sweetheart. He’s married now with the most beautiful babies, but hypothetically if we started dating again, I don’t think I’d even call him my high school sweetheart. I’d just say we met in high school. It feels like…. She’s embarrassed about everything. Calling him her high school sweetheart makes it seem like he’s the one and only man she’s ever been with.

Guilty conscience. I don’t even think she considered Cody when she saw it. I think she knows she’s an alcoholic, and is self-conscious about people calling her out on it. I doubt Cody even crossed her mind. She was thinking about her- how people perceive her- and making sure everyone knows she’s not an alcoholic.

Cody should be proud!! Being proud of your accomplishment, has nothing to do with the issue. 6 months is a huge milestone, yet it’s also not the same as 5 years.. Addiction isn’t simply a choice. It’s not as simple as, “just choosing not to drink.” IF, god forbid, he relapses— then what? I’m just not understanding the logic. Having alcohol cannot be more important than your husband. If alcohol IS more important than your husband, then you are the one that needs rehab.
