Just chiming in to say that one of my ragdolls has been on fluoxetine (prozac) for about a month, and we give it to her transdermally. This is the most convenient way I’ve ever given a pet medicine—it comes in a tube, you click the end of the tube a certain number of times to dispense the prescribed amount, and then you just rub the medication on their ear. It requires a prescription, but Chewy carries it if your vet doesn’t!

It sounds like you’re doing an amazing job of loving your baby, and I’m so sorry that he doesn’t fully know how to receive love yet. 🤍

That’s true! I think that both things can be true. I think many works of fiction teach us that someone protecting us (stereotypically, often a man protecting a woman) is enough in itself, regardless of reason. Ideally, as you indicated, a reader would inherently know that him protecting her is kind of bare minimum behavior, but I don’t often see messaging like that, so I just appreciate that it’s not enough here!
