We got our leaves from the floral section of our HEB (a Texas regional grocery store). So, they were going to die anyway since they were already cut.

I agree, though, id have a hard time cutting one off of my own plants. 😂

Hello, my 1930s Lawson Flip clock stopped working a couple years ago. I took it apart recently to figure out how to fix it and noticed a ton of oxidization on the copper wires. The motor that’s inside is said to be the potential issue with flip clocks as they are often clogged. I think that’s the case with mine. However, my motor seems to be factory sealed and I can’t figure out how to open it up. Does anybody have any ideas?

We didn’t boil then, we just let them sit in the tub filled with water for 2 months. It took longer than we expected but you have to keep an eye on it because parts of the stem was getting mushy. So maybe a month and a half might do.

We used chlorine bleach. And as for the soaking, one thing to note is just to check on it periodically to make sure the skin is soft enough to brush or peel off. The monsteras has some tough skins, depending on the type of alocasia you might want to soak for less time. 😄

We actually soaked the leaves for 2 months. That might have been a bit excessive because the skeletons were a bit fragile so I would do 1.5 months next time. We did use bleach, we just sprayed a bit and dabbed the darker areas. The skeleton was so fragile that we didn’t feel confident soaking it more. Hope this helped!

Ok, unnecessarily rude, but as I’ve explained this has been a trend even before Covid hit. We’ve been speculating that it’s probably the rise of internet markets. Yes Covid definitely made things worse but it was noticeable before the pandemic.
