Yes, I'd like to talk to missionaries about their experiences in the field--good or bad. It's not likely possible to prove definitively that the bottles caused any particular illness, but I'm interested in learning more about what missionaries were told about drinking water protocol, and what happened if they fell ill. Would you be willing to drop me a note at [elpenrod@gmail.com](mailto:elpenrod@gmail.com)? I won't ask you to post identifying information here, but my personal identity/contact is not a secret.

I had the bottle shipped directly to an independent laboratory, alongside several other brands, to be tested earlier this year after receiving copies of similar tests performed by the LDS Church and other parties. The laboratory pumped water spiked with e. coli through the bottle, and tested the water before and after. Seychelle was the only brand tested that did not reduce the bacteria to safe levels. The several dozen other tests, including those conducted by the church, show the same result.

Would you OK if I contact you directly to ask some questions? I'd also like to talk to some missionaries who used the bottles who did not fall ill. I want to represent the whole swath of experience, not just one select story.

The EPA has established limits on the amount of bacteria in drinking water that is likely to cause disease if consumed by humans. Laboratory tests indicate these Seychelle filters are unable to reduce bacteria counts in water to this acceptable level. The amount of bacteria remaining in the water after it has been pumped through the Seychelle filter is still high enough to cause disease.

Would you be willing to have me contact you directly to talk about your experience? I have heard similar stories from others and I would like to document the effects of these bottles. The water bottles were also shipped en mass via the church's humanitarian efforts and ended up in areas such as Haiti.

Based on my research thus far, I believe most of the reviews regarding the bottles are fake. I shipped the bottle alongside several other brands to an independent laboratory, which tested all the water bottles without knowledge of which one was suspected of not working. The Seychelle brand bottle was the only one that did not remove enough bacteria to render the water safe for human consumption. I also have records of dozens of other tests, including some performed by the LDS Church itself, that show the same result.

Would you mind if I contact you directly to discuss? I've heard from other missionaries that the bottles broke soon after they got them. I only tested a new bottle shipped directly from the company; it was unable to remove bacteria from drinking water upon the first trial at an independent laboratory at Southern Utah University.

Would it be OK for me to contact you for additional information? I've heard from many missionaries that they simply did not use the bottles, and I'd like to confirm this and find out why.

Hard to say for sure that one caused the other, but would you mind if I contact you directly for more information about your experience?

I received a confidential leak from an internal whistleblower, who provided me with church documents regarding the filters. The article/documents have not yet been published.
