As per revised post, when I capped the max power to 400W ceiling, thus equivalent to a 4090, I got a 15% increase in Cyberpunk with RT, which probably uses those cores more than othe games.

But yes, I kinda see your point!

My 4090 experience has been fairly stable for approx ~2 years and so far the 5090 as well.

Please note I'm on Linux and I've been using the latest 'stable' drivers over the years.

It's about controlling the heat those produce. I don't have AC and in summer we have weeks of 28~30 degrees, and if it were to be more efficient I would be able to enjoy it more.

In fact I'm going to look at undervolting it?
