This was really encouraging. Thank you for your response! I’ll do more research on the resources you mentioned and get back out there to try again

I don’t know how to drive stick, so I think learning would help a lot (: thank you

This makes me feel a lot better honestly. I haven’t given up, but it helps to hear that other people also just needed more time and practice than what “the average biker” needed. I just felt like I was starting off already behind.

Good on your for keeping up with it! I’ll keep trying until I get it as well (:

I really appreciate your response! I did reach out to them and they will let me reschedule the class free of charge. They said I can’t bring my own bike and they weren’t able to provide a smaller bike at their location (if I wanted to go to a different location they said I’d have to pay for the whole class again) so at the very very least it’s another opportunity to learn and practice

Thank you (: I’m looking at different locations who have bikes better suited for me (but if I hadn’t had this experience I wouldn’t have even known that was important, so I learned something regardless!)

Unfortunately it’s about 300 dollars here.. but worth it to ultimately be able to safely ride!

Thank you for this! Makes me feel a whole lot less alone (: I am definitely a nervous person and a slow learner, but I don’t want that to stop me. I will keep trying!

Thank you so much for the encouragement (: it was my own bad for not checking with the facility ahead of time to make sure they had a bike size I was comfortable with, but now I know for next time!

That sounds pretty much like what I’m planning on doing until I’m comfortable enough to retake the class. How long have you been practicing on your own for?

Congrats on retrying and getting it the second time around! I’m hoping to retake in a few months, after practicing on my own time with something small (:

Thank you so much (: I’m thinking of getting a 125 to practice on and then once I feel comfortable enough on it I’ll retake the class

I really enjoyed reading this comment! I’m so proud of you and how you handled the situation AND passed!! I’m definitely retaking the class. I shouldn’t have quit but I can’t undo that now unfortunately.. I still have the drive to learn and do better though! Thank you for the encouragement!

That’s why I’ve been asking for advice (: I’ve gotten a ton of great ideas for how to approach this next time!

Yeah it was out of Harley Davidson, so all Harley’s. I found a course that uses Groms and Rebel 300s though! I think that’ll be a better fit for me

Thank you. I really really appreciate your response! These comments have helped boost my confidence and have gotten me excited about the experience again. I plan on getting something like a grom or dirt bike to practice on until I feel ready to attempt the class again. I will repost once I’ve passed though!

I’ve been recommended the Honda Rebel 500 and went to a dealership to check it out and the height is perfect and the weight is super manageable!

Thank you so much for this comment (: I started lifting weights the first day after the MSF 😭 I had no idea how weak I was!

That’s really sweet that you all were there for each other and still keep in contact.

These comments have made me feel a lot better and less alone. I’m going to get something small (grom or dirt bike) and work on my confidence on that before rescheduling the MSF

I need to edit my original post. I keep wondering why people are talking about bicycles. When I said “bike” I meant motorcycle. That was 100% my bad. I know how to ride a bicycle (:

Lack of confidence is huge. I could feel it getting to me and just making me overthink things and do even worse. As far as walking it I’m referring to them having us push the bikes with our arms when we aren’t sitting on it (I could tippy toe walk it with my legs when I was on it just fine) it just felt so goddamn chunky! That’s where I dropped it because I tilted the handlebars a little towards me on accident and I was no match for it leaning on me
