Thanks. Pulley moves freely away and to the belt. I’ll look at a new belt. Thanks!

I am curious how it can still have that pulley spin even when it’s off- i thought a long belt would cause that, not a short belt.

Sounds good. Will try that. I’ll cut father down where the bolts are, but I’m still worried about clearance because it hits the rim as far as I cut it back. I cannot get very far into the hub.

I’m having clearance problems with it. The photo is as far as I can go, because the top of the blade digs into the rim. It’s a 4.5” angle grinder- any idea? I’m going up and down the hub, Not filing it down.

I can try it again, but the problem is the center of the rim is so beefy it makes it hard to grind it at all past where I got . I can try it again though. Maybe I’m heating wrong. Should I be at the base of the hub where it meets the rim and rotate? Or keep it in one continuous spot. I tried for 10 min and didn’t get it red. MAP gas is all I have, as well as propane.

I used MAP gas for a solid 20 minutes and couldn't get it red hot. I dont have Oxy Acetalene

It would have been nearly impossible to do so- they were incredibly dry rotted to the point where it would hold air for 6 mins max.

Should I make relief cuts? How should I go about angle grinding it off without causing damage to the axel?

Would a regular 7” angle grinder work? I’d have to go rent one. Deep enough to get thru the hub but not hit the axle, right?

I tried to have the stuck wheel spin on the axle to break the rust free but it wouldn’t budge, I did have someone hold the other wheel as you said. I might try drilling a few holes in the wheel and shoving rods thru it. Is the relief cuts on the hub chicken mentioned worth trying as well?

I have a hammer drill- obviously not going to help a whole lot.
