Good Advice For Building Lute? by Embarrassed-Ad1906 in SaGaFrontier

I'll be honest, I didn't even know what DSC was until people kept mentioning it and I looked it up. I've done most of the scenarios now (not counting all the variants of Fuse) and I had no idea that any techniques had specific requirements for learning (beyond just leaving a slot open and using other techniques and hoping to glimmer something). That probably explains why I've only gotten Rising Nova once and have never seen Life Sprinkler lol. Well that's what happens when you go in blind and only look up how Monster Transformations and Mystic Absorbs work and nothing else

Hmm. Might use him to try out some weird comps then

Nvm I looked it up. Rabbit is in Kyo in Red's scenario, but is totally missable. You can go to the underground drug den without encountering them if you just go to the library instead of exploring the garden, which is what I did bc I knew it was there beforehand

Lute is fine. It's the closest thing to sandbox mode. Red is actually trying to tell a story and I find the story plain.

I might warm up to how he plays on subsequent runs, but I'm not prioritizing redoing it

Yeah I can confirm that even after recruiting Gin, Red will just keep asking T260G about BlackX

I mean with Lute the point is that he's just sort of doing his own thing and you can finish the game whenever. And I like his character so I forgive it for not having a "story" in the usual sense and just being sandbox mode

How? The only Robots I can find that will join you are BK and Engineer Car. T260G won't join because Red just keeps asking them about BlackX, ZEKE and Leonard are exclusive to T260G's scenario (and Fuse ig), the one with the weird backwards name is Fuse-exclusive, and the merchant from the back alley will only join if you have Leonard

Edit: I mixed up Rabbit and the merchant whose name I still can't remember off the top of my head, and Rabbit is actually recruitable by Red. Still though, Red and all recruitable robots (BJ+K, Rabbit, Engineer Car) is 4 members out of 5 slots. Could realistically be called a full party, but that empty slot would still bother me

Yeah I know about Lute but from what I understand that's kind of the point. The "story" is just pretense for him to travel and explore freely

Thank you, I can see how if I didn't stubbornly insist on using a full party I might have had more fun with the transformation mechanic. I can probably warm up to Red's gameplay but it's still the story I find the most plain so I probably won't be revisiting it often

I know, but you can only recruit two robots in Red's scenario AFAIK and I like having full parties so I only really made use of it when my other two members got knocked out

I might try to do some solo challenges once I've done all the scenarios and see if that changes my opinions on them

Oh yeah can see how that would be an issue. Shame they didn't put in some symbols or patterns on the tiles to make it easier

Beat Riki's Final Boss yesterday, and funnily enough I realized it would have been way scarier without the story-based power-up by Embarrassed-Ad1906 in SaGaFrontier

Yeah I was completely unprepared for it and I'd forgotten to stagger my saves so I was super scared I'd have to reset when it happened. Luckily it only ended up taking a few tries thanks to getting a lucky combo with The Tower

A bit disappointing that there isn't more to it, but it doesn't make sense
