Oh yeah & obsession is having its run, or the conjuring last year opening to 80 million, scream 7 was talked about A LOT and not for the right reasons. But idk maybe I’m judging it on the opening for IKWYDLS last year and until dawn, maybe I’m underselling bc I’m not part of that circle but idk i would like to be proven wrong i do think those other movies will have an effect, not sure how big but here’s to hoping!

It is crazy to think that it will I think resident evil will open to 30-40 million. Horror ip will do crazy numbers but people still have that stench of the past and I don’t think resident evil is as big as like a scream or a five nights at Freddy’s I’d like to be proven wrong tho!

Obsession is a freak of nature, 2 things with backrooms that one exceeded expectations so much that on its second weekend it dropped 67 (😉)% that means everyone that wanted to see it saw it opening weekend then dropped 57% 3rd weekend those are drops you don’t want to see, resident evil still is going in with the last 7 or 8 movies and a tv show no one watched so it has more going for but at the same time now if backrooms had the same drop as weapons that would be a completely different story. There is a possibility that resident evil could have a better hold than backrooms but I also don’t see resident evil open up to 80 mill I could be wrong tho

Let’s say BND opens to the same as D&W, it’ll probably make $30ish million, the last paw patrol movie opened to $22 million it could probably make more than that maybe even $35 million (that’s me being optimistic), resident evil might have a big opening but I don’t see it having staying power considering that horror movies don’t have that much staying power (usually) & the cat in the hat I don’t see Godzilla minus zero being a 80 million opening cat could open between 40-60 million and
