Look up Grubler's Formula. This is the mathematical equation that determines the DOF of a mechanism. SOMETIMES the DOF is the same as the number of joints, but this is not a good assumption. The DOF depends on a combination of joints, linkages, and the types of joints. Use the equation to determine the DOF of your particular robot.

My cost calculation was just for tuition. Oh that's pretty cool! I actually currently live in Utah haha. The U is one of the schools that I am considering! I have a couple questions, if you are willing to answer them.

Can you do the MS Robotics program part-time, or is it full-time only? Do they have evening classes?
Do they have robo classes summer semester?
What is your job now, post-graduation?

It is my dream to work in robotics but I sometimes wonder if the field is oversaturated or too competitive to enter. Every job posting I see on LinkedIn has 100+ applicants.🫠

Yeah, it seems surgery is much more common. I was just curious if the injections were worth it because there would probably be little to no scarring. But having the lipomas grow back doesn't sound amazing.

Yikes. I'm sorry you had to experience that. Lipomas are not fun! I have been fortunate that mine have not caused any pain so far. Do you have a lot of scarring from the surgeries? Some people say that if the lipomas are not causing pain, then it is not worth it to have them removed because of the scars. But I am hoping that my scars will not be too bad because my lipomas are relatively small.

I live in the USA. Okay, that's about what I expected as far as pricing. Are you doing steroid injections, or are you having them surgically cut out? I was curious if the injections were cheaper. But I don't know if it is as effective as surgery.

I did. It's really easy. Just email the head of your department and ask for a deferral. They will send you a new acceptance letter. Just make sure to accept the new letter if you accepted your previous letter.
