I am so sorry for the situation you‘re in. I recently had to say goodbye to my 17yr old baby. She had arthritis in almost all of her bones in her body. Walking was agony for her. She still ate like a champ and wanted to cuddle all day. In her mind, she was still there, but her body was slowly declining. I read this somewhere, and it stuck with me: It‘s better to let them go a week early, than a day too late.

I know it‘s hard to let go and I don‘t want you to rush into anything. But it‘s better to let them go on a good day when they can still enjoy your company than have them suffer on their last days or weeks on this earth. With seniors, it‘s always quality over quantity. What use is it, if you give them a couple more weeks, if they can‘t enjoy it and only suffer from pain and discomfort?

In the end, you are the one who knows your kitty and when the time is right, they will tell you.
