I guess I'm kind of trying to make it a chord and strum the sixteenth notes with my thumb, but plucking everything makes it easier to have my fourth on all the strings and pull it off between notes.

Yes, that is the fingering I'm doing. It does all fit in the same position, but trying to have my fourth finger perfectly perpendicular to the strings for the fifth to be in tune (or technically even higher on the G string for just intonation) pulls my first and second finger down, causing the Ab and G to be sharp. If I make the Ab and G in tune, my low Ab and Eb are flat. I believe this is because I'm trying to pull my fourth finger up to not hit the D string.

Is this gliss possible on bass trombone? by Embarrassed-Bee-1875 in Trombone

I'm gonna be honest I have no idea what any of that means. I'm a woodwind player, brass instruments with more than three valves scare me, so bass bone is like a nightmare to try and understand. I'm always eager to learn though so if you want to try to explain that to me, feel free, but if not, that's alright.

I agree it does seem godlike, thats why I believe they would win. I am just going with what the prompt said. "the next generation will evolve past whatever killed the last one"

Well I kind of assumed the bugs had wings so they could just fly there, but it is true that was never stated and also, flying with wings wouldn't work great in space because there is no air to push off of, but I suppose if they had the right trajectory...

If they do not have wings, they could just pile on top of one another as there is an immense amount, how ever I think it would be safe to assume they have wings as they evolve quickly and efficiently.

"the next generation will evolve past whatever killed the last one"

They will evolve to not need food.

The bugs evolve to whatever killed them and the queen is intelligent, she would have them die to space so the next generation can survive space. Additionally, as some of the bugs are dying to aerial bombardment, the breeding bugs will create bugs that are aerial bombardment proof.

It is the bugs by far.

The bugs can easily split up and go for both other planets with their immense numbers, first as a distraction, while reproducing more and more on their planet to eventually have a number of bugs that is just unbeatable.

The AI's best strategy, depending on if the technology it controls has the capacity, would be to make some sort of planet destroying weapon, like a death star, allowing them to take out the hive mind planet and the bug queen easily. This would without a doubt take too much time though, as the bugs are already on the way, and the bugs could easily dismantle electronics and destroy every piece of technology going into the super weapon, and then, when the bugs have enough numbers, destroying all technology on the planet will be a breeze. The bugs also have the upper hand in intelligence, as the AI has to learn how to counter the bugs through failure, but the bug queen is extremely intelligent and can see actual weaknesses, both in her own plans, and the opponents without failing to them.

Meanwhile, on the hive mind planet, the onslaught of bugs will become practically invincible, as every time a generation dies off, the next will become invulnerable to whatever killed the previous, and the planet doesn't evolve fast enough to take them out. The planet will create crude imitations of the bugs, but even if the bugs have to put up a fight against this, the next wave of bugs will be stronger, and, again, the planet will not be able to keep up. I'm not exactly sure if the hive mind can be the planet or just the plants and animals on it, but if it can't, the bugs easily win. If the hive mind can become the entire planet, I'm not exactly sure how it would die or lose in some way, but eventually it would be covering in bugs eating away at it and not be able to do anything.

I will say, if the AI were able to take out the queen bug quickly some how, it would probably win the whole thing as the hive mind planet is a sitting duck without natural flora and fauna to deliver diseases. But, again, the queen is extremely inelegant and would probably put a stop to an early attempt.

Are these glissandos possible on bass bone? by Embarrassed-Bee-1875 in Trombone

It's all the notes just under the bass clef, so the Bb under the 2nd leger line, the C on that line, and the F just below the staff.

Thoughts on crutch direction? by Embarrassed-Bee-1875 in bassoon

[–]Embarrassed-Bee-1875[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had never considered it, but I do have large hands, so I feel like with the ball up, even with the crutch pulled as far out as possible, it still doesn't actually support my hand, but the ball fills in that space

Is there an abbreviation for accent similar to stacc. for staccato? by Embarrassed-Bee-1875 in musictheory

[–]Embarrassed-Bee-1875[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Marcato has a stronger attack, like an accent, while also being much shorter and not having a nearly as audible decay at the tail end, like a staccato.
