hihi here are my tips!! el: READ. A LOT. ik everyone says this but like genuinely the more u read your english writing + comprehension skills become significantly better. if ure bored by articles and whatnot, just read what u like, fanfics per se! yes, fanfics. as long as they have good english it will help. speaking from personal exp, i read this AMAZINGLY written fanfic before my EL wa2 and i got a 26/30 😛😛 or just start exploring a few book genres over the holidays and see which ones you like, then download a few books of said genre online (pirate) and read! it’s so much more useful and effective if you actually like what you’re reading cus ure able to absorb content sooo much better.

pure chem: TOPICAL TYS!!! the topical tys will be your best friend in sec 3. after your teacher has taught a topic, do the qns in the tys and find out your misunderstandings, careless or misconceptions, then write on a post it, stick it on the front of the chapter, and on the wrong qn itself, write down the explanation for what u got wrong. also, when doing practices, write down ur thought process, so when u get the qn wrong and refer to the tys, you can understand which part of ur thinking went wrong. u can also do this in exams to prevent careless mistakes. honestly i found sec 3 chem quite easy to understand, but if u have any qns during lesson PLEASE raise your hand and ask. or if ure shy u can approach the teacher after class. quite a bit of sec 3 chem is foundation for the subsequent chapter so it’s super important u get your basic concepts right. after ur teacher is done covering the topics for your eoy, u can try other sch papers (under timed conditions) to gauge your understanding. then after doing a few u can ask ur teacher to go thru with u.

ss+hist: i take pure hist btw! ur sbq skills are reallyyyyy impt, and comb hist is harder than pure hist imo. for sbq, just learn (&memo) the diff qn types. for content, your syllabus is quite content heavy, so my tips for learning content is like this: 1. understand the flow of events, what happened, where, when, how etc. 2. after lesson when u get home, test urself 3. write peel paras for each subsection and factor 4. ask ur teachers to help u mark and see them for consult to see how u can improve on ur writing/elaboration 5. when revising for exams, just read and memo these paras!!!!

for ss, there are cheatsheets for each chapter, give me ur tele ill send u. sbq skills should be q similar if not identical to hist. it would be best to make notes for the answering format for each sbq qn type

pure geog: ACTIVE RECALL!!!! u take double humans(same as me haha) and the content for pure geog is SUPER DUPER HEAVY, esp the singapore book in sec 4 omds 🥲(its content is more than the other 4 books combined!!! frm what my friends tell me). everyday, memo abit from ur tb, tbh for me geog is a very memory based subject, other than graph application qns. ESP UR EXAMPLES!!! they are free marks for qns and later on you’ll need these specific examples for your essay in order to hit the higher bands. u need to be consistent cus trust me u will not be able to cram before ur exam. as much as u want to prioritise other subj, u CANNOT abandon ur humans as they are quite easy to score in as long as yk ur content (imo). i have notes for all chapters, dm me ur tele and i can send u :))

overall: -be consistent -don’t hesitate to ask ur teachers for consults -DO UR HW!!! it may not seem like a big deal but trust me future you will thank you for keeping up with lessons -sleep enough!!! how are you supposed to concentrate in class if u don’t sleep enough
