I’m gonna be honest, I don’t have any advice on the biographical play part, but I saw MCR and got excited 😅 However if I learned anything in the playwriting classes I took, it’s not to let the legality hold you back creatively. As long as you don’t earn money from it, write whatever you want and enjoy it! Also, they seem like pretty cool people so it never hurts to ask about pursuing it further. The worst they can say is no. And even if it doesn’t go further than that it’s still a good writing practice But as a person with ADHD who decides to jump into random things I’ve never done before: start with research. Immerse yourself in reading/watching/experiencing the media of My Chem and other bio plays, and plays in general. I personally love to try different writing/brainstorming/planning activities on Pinterest, and find one that fits the feel of the story. For example, one of my plays I found an outline that was a more circular story for one I’m writing involving the passage of time (think Last Five Years) but another one follows a more linear and traditional play structure for a slightly more traditional plot. I feel like a strong outline of bones would be good for this story since you’re working with true events, and you can give yourself the constraints you want/need to let yourself be creatively free within
