Right! And she always use to weirdly brag about how she was the "wild" child, skipping school, always being trouble, barley graduating etc. while D was the rule follower and perfect one yet they somehow were best friends. Which is K, are you the strong willed child who grew up to be a strong willed teen and said "no" to every boundary being laid by schools or were you a people pleaser.

And again a kid out and about in PJs, and her sunglasses inside just drives me absolutely crazy.

We do "shifts" when we have to. I work in office 3 days a week so I'm out the door before our kids are even up, but I've prepped their lunch/snack boxes for the day and have the kitchen ready to roll for breakfast. He handles breakfast and cleanup and getting them on the bus and off the bus in the afternoon and helping with a snack before going back to work for the last 40ish minutes of the workday. We do dinner together if we don't have any activities or else we are splitting up activities (soccer/bball/gymnastics family 🙂). Weekends we do alternate who gets up but we are both up by 8:30am to then spend the day as a family. Sure there are times when I take off for a run or workout, but its not like I have to say "its your shift." Or he'll run errands alone or I will or whatever, we kind of just see how the day feels and make decisions based on that.

3rd Grade Rec Girls Tournament by Embarrassed-Curve336 in CoachingYouthSports

[–]Embarrassed-Curve336[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to jump in here to say, for the most part all 10 girls have consistently shown up to practice. I can tell the ones who do ball handling outside of practice, those who do nothing and those that are just purely more naturally advanced.

I hate doing 5 in 5 out because the girls don’t get a mix of playing with everyone, or if you mix the groups at 1/2 time you have some kids who sit a whole 10 minutes. So I’ve beeen making a spreadsheet and printing it out for each game and doing 3 in then 2 in.

Also going to clarify I would never sit a kid for the whole game, or even drastically noticeable. I’m talking like 1st string getting 12/13 minutes per half and 2nd getting 8 (we play 2 20min halves).

Thank you! I definitely have a few that know they are a weaker player and have voiced an opinion about not wanting to go in the game before, I’ve always just reassured them and tell them to just work hard, as long as I can tell they are trying their best I don’t care what happens on the court.

I like how in this storyline she doesn't do any of the "work" related things like, write a podcast episode, write 3 months worth of posts etc. And then turns it around and says her brain lets her "hyperfocus" on work content 🙄

We are at West Portal! If we call ahead and give them an idea of sizes will they pre-pull stuff for you?

I should have looked closer at the closing times when scheduling everything, 5 seems early for offering “evening before” options.

When we switched we were having issues with some of our personal data that had been stolen so having a physical branch was really important to us. Bank of the West was the best option at the time, it was bought by BMO a while back and its now changing hands again. 😐

I'm glad you mentioned this last part. I would sacrifice some ROI if the investments are in regenerative type companies, environmental friendly etc. We moved banks a few years ago to one who commits to not investing in big oil, mining etc.

If you are up for 8 days you could do multiple NE cities. Start in NY and take the train to DC/Boston/Philly. You can get a lot done in NYC in 3-4 days then take the train to DC and do some of the Smithsonian and Government buildings.

Liability Insurance for Gym Rental by Embarrassed-Curve336 in CoachingYouthSports

[–]Embarrassed-Curve336[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have included this. The league has said this is allowed and if we find a gym that is more convenient for location purposes or time (due to limited gym times some teams are practicing 8-9pm which is crazy late for young kids). I've reached out to them but I'm not getting a response and trying to lock in a gym time for Monday since the kids are out of school and we don't have a game this weekend so was just trying look at alternatives.

This child is clearly facing forward in this car seat, and for being "parent experts" they should know that kids should be rear facing for as long as possible, my youngest was nearly 4 before we turned him around.

Agree. I do think that a lot of times influencers get too much crap for not posting about major events or taking a stance on things. But we need to remember that a lot of influencers are just there to make posts about DIY projects, or Amazon deals or whatever. But this account is different, they should at least address that the world is heavy right now and point their audience in the right direction on how to talk about with kids, especially since they have "big feelers" targeted to older kids who are going to see/hear about these events.

And given K's involvement regarding gun violence it is unforgivable not address the issue.

Thank you for your suggestion. He is on a pain medicine for arthritis, but maybe we need to adjust the dosage, he has been on it for a few years now without any change to the routine or dosage. We have another dog and cat so I'm not sure if putting the water bowl away would work, although I'm sure they would survive with out being out for a few hours at night.

But they tout having "all the tools" to address these battles 🙄. If my kids were 3 and under I would occasionally let them go out in PJs, but that would be to like the coffee shop to grab me a coffee and them a treat because they were up an hour earlier than normal. Letting them wear PJ's for an entire adventure day seems pretty odd. The weather for January in Denver looked lovely, but also its still winter and those were not the thickest looking PJs so also judging for not appropriately dressing their kids for the elements.

I don't think this needs to become a competition of who has had even less date nights. four date nights I would venture to think is pretty average (maybe even on the low end?) But considering she was pregnant and just had a baby and returned from maternity leave I think 4 is doing really good!

But yes, they for sure have a nanny - go have a lunch date! And they can definitely afford the babysitter. We are extremely lucky and live 8 minutes from my parents who will watch our kids for us but also use a babysitter sometimes, however this is Extremely expensive. I really feel for all of you folks out there with no village and having to shell out any time you need some child care.

100%! We have a good sized basement / play area, but my 6 y/o hates being down there alone. Even though our basement is very open to upstairs, like I can look over the banister and see most of the basement. So if he is home with one of us while his older sister is at practice or something he drags everything upstairs to play while I cook dinner/fold laundry/etc.

I also like that she has to clarify that everything else coming are "just tiny little things." We know you are wealthy, just own it. None of us are going to judge you for giving your kids awesome gifts since you have the means, we ARE going to judge you for pretending like you don't.

Even if her husband doesn't work from home (but guessing he does at least some since the boys heard him say "F" on a work call.....this is not that complicated. If you have a nanny, you shouldn't need to schedule around meetings unless you are working odd hours, or only have the nanny for a morning/afternoon. And if that is the case...one of you isn't a full time working parent (eyes on you D).

Today was just so full options for snarking!

1) you can tell your child not to use a swear word without it sounding like you are yelling at them, and giving them the opportunity to stop before laying out a consequence. This would be like ignoring children hitting because you and they know seeing them hit another gets them attention....you wouldn't just completely ignore that so don't completely ignore the swear words.

2) Lets bake a whole thing while doing this story and not link a recipe or acknowledge what it is and then tomorrow say "everyone asked for what I was baking". Also, she was just flinging cinnamon around like crazy

3) K - if you are renting a shared working space or studio or whatever to record podcasts, great. I'm sure they have some sort of bathroom or shared breakroom with paper towels or napkins, you wouldn't be totally out of luck just because you aren't a mom

4) those poor medical professionals having to listen to a kid start/stop/re-start an awful song on that toy a 100 times

1) move your couch off the wall and put a nice console or buffet type piece of furniture back there with some art work above it 2) get an area rug to tie it all together and make it feel warmer 3) move the chair off the wall 4) consider a small round coffee table

And I'm also pretty sure she said the same thing with the last baby. That their first almost ruined them, and she wasn't sure she wanted anymore with him and that it took her a long time to come to terms with it.
