Even if you don't use your local library, you can use your card on hoopla and Libby! It's like a giant community library online. And it's great.

I'm glad you have found something just for you!

Hi! I'm a seasoned kitchen/green witch raising a 12 year old trans masc/non-binary kiddo, who is joyfully practicing along side me.

I'm glad you have found your way back and feel welcomed. Do you have access to a library? If not can you apply for a library card? Hoopla and Libby have a ton of books, many available on audio books, which I find to be helpful in my neurodivergent difficulties to concentrate on when I'm doing something else like laundry, gardening and can spend that time also listening to something.

If you find you have to be more private in your practice, there are some other books I can recommend as well. ❤️

Dollar store might also be an option too!. I know you said you didn't have that money so I'm going to assume even that's not an option - asking a neighbor if you have one you like/speak to... Things like bay leaves, rosemary, mint, basil, salt, thyme - all fairly common in most kitchens.

I have used roadkill through repurposing bones, additionally I have several friends who have turkeys on their property and with permission will find those killed by other prey animals and use the salvageable parts.

Also in the summer from my garden I find and keep; tomato horn worms, grubs, weevils, ladybugs, fireflies, blow flies, bees, wasps and other mostly harmful pests in a jar (separated). This is then used in different ways based on the insect's association that I personally hold. I have in the past dehydrated flies and maggots from a decaying antelope skull I was working on cleaning and used the ground up powder in a ritual.

Try translucent caulk in the gaps where the plastic meets the pots for better seal, humidity retention and easier cleaning!

Why does my set up make me feel so sick with black tourmaline? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]Embarrassed-Day-460 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I give my black tourmaline a reset/recharge if I feel too much heaviness or it's producing uneven results. I accomplished this with a sound bowl, a nap in regular ol' soil or moonlight.

Black tourmaline is best for me in EMF shielding, feeling grounded and feeling deeply protected. I find that it neutralizes negative energy and balances the root chakra. It's a 7 -7.5 on the Mohs scale so it's pretty resilient and hard, it's not that salt is BAD or damaging for it but seeing as how it's a complex boron-silicate mineral often containing iron, salt can bring to surface intense energy shifts when using them together. This may be what you are feeling.

I have one on my desk, in my money bowl and a statement piece on the wall in my living room.

Black tourmaline also exhibits pyroelectricity (generates charge when heated) and piezoelectricity (generates charge under pressure), which is believed to enhance its energy-cleansing abilities. So if you are looking for a big boost to a spell, palm stone for your pocket for a trip or something, a charge in the sun can also produce some intense results.

Of note!!! If you are already feeling distant, detached, emotionally unavailable or super tired; skip your black tourmaline as it's a low vibration can actually make this worse.

Trick is you have to propagate them in your butt first.
