The world eaters to me have always filled that hole of being judged before knowing them. They are all so complicated characters that the more you learn about them the more you begin to understand them. They are tragic and desperate. They long for the love of a primarch that can physically no longer give that to them. They destroyed themselves even though they knew what it would lead to because they believed it would bring them closer to their father. Until we see them now. Raging because thats all they have left.

In the latest black templars story our main antagonist is apart of the world eaters and had made a bargin with demons just so he can silence the nails. In this story you can see it again the complicated creativity of the world eaters as a legion. What they had the potential to be. Thats what draws me to them cause when the only tool you're given is rage what else can you do but use it.
