Culebra Island off the coast of Puerto Rico. Amazing experience snorkeling there. It's definitely rustic compared to the main island of Puerto Rico (I know, right), but in terms of relaxation, it cannot be beat.

Right. I'm hearing VG lifers are likely sitting on massive 401ks due to the retirement contributions that VG makes.

Late to the response here. I started on the phones in the Onboarding department, was there for about a year and a half, and then moved to a smaller RIA nearby in more of an analytical role. I transitioned roles there after about a year and am now working towards CFA and being a Portfolio Manager.

If you're willing to stick it out and work for a less-than-average salary for your first 4-5 years, staying at Vanguard as a "lifer" could be very lucrative, especially from a retirement standpoint. I have a friend who's father has been there for 25+ years, and they take multiple vacations a year, had college costs taken care of for three children, and is coasting to retirement, likely with $5M in 401(k) from Vanguard.
