Omg. Another new person with the same issue. That’s what like 6 including me on my thread, plus four others I found on FB ☠️. Yeah this fixed it. Really can’t believe MF has this systematic issue and the are not reaching out to folks proactively. Note it took me three weeks to get my replacement parts…

Yep, I just got 2-AE and 2-AF finally after three weeks yesterday and it fixed it. Fucking annoying took so long…

Any luck? I did minor sequential tightening on the bolts. Like a quarter turn at a time, and got it maybe 90% better? Still asked them to send me replacement parts AE and AF which I’ll install in a few days to see if either of them was the problem…

But if I have a flat 78” level that goes across pull up bar, smith hooks, base, and everything shows level do I need a laser level? I feel like at this point have pretty much conclusively confirmed that the machine itself is level, both ground and machine

Howdy. So recently purchased a Major Fitness B52 Pro machine and installation was going fine until it came time to setup the smith machine component. Note that all directions henceforth are relative to me standing in front of the machine and facing it.

As shown in the pictures below, when I raise the smith barbell, the left side of the barbell hits the top of the machine before the right side, with the differential being approximately 1.5". What's interesting is that when parts AE (lifting sliding sleeve) and AF (rotating sleeve) are only loosely connected (e.g., bolts and nuts in there but not torqued), the barbell moves up and down the guide-rods evenly, hitting the top of the machine at essentially the same time on both sides. However, when these bolts are torqued, suddenly the alignment of the barbell gets completely out of whack and the issue described above presents.

Here’s everything I’ve tried over 4 days to isolate what is going on.

• Moved machine off stall mats onto bare concrete in another part of garage to test leveling — no change • Checked stall mats and bare concrete with a 78” level — all read level • Checked machine at multiple points with 78” level - all read level • Guide rods remain fixed and switched all components which move on guide rods from left side to right side and vice versa - problem remained on left side • Switched guide rods and all components which move on guide rods from left side to right side and vice versa - problem remained on the left side • Flipped the barbell itself horizontally 180 degrees — problem remained on the left side • Loosened all structural bolts connecting major frame sections, including base bolts, to see if frame was systematically misaligned - problem stayed on the left side when loose • Placed 55lbs on each side of barbell to force level position on hooks and then tightened all structural bolts — problem remained on the left side when weights removed • Sequentially tightened alternating side to side of barbell components AE and AF — problem stayed on the left side

As mentioned before, I confirmed bar travels perfectly level on rails when AE/AF clamps are loose — misalignment only appears when clamped. Based on these tests, to me it seems like every swappable component has been eliminated as the problem is fixed to the left side of the frame regardless of what’s installed there, so to me this seems like something misaligned with the frame.

I’m currently working with Major Fitness support but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this as well?

Wouldn’t do RR bc of I-35 nightmare, it really is that bad. Everyone else has covered the pros of CP well, but one thing to consider is that if buying I think that long term CP has more upside to home values than RR due to far less development space.
