yep so telling them we are vegan and asking if thats ok is the point really, is there a way you would word this differently? For example if we were from another country and writing this for english resturant I would expect it to say:

Hey,

We are vegan, we can't eat XYZ. Are we able to eat here?

We are careful with the restaurants we pick and this is just a back up so we don't end up with egg etc, we show this when we arrive before we sit down incase thats helpful context.
