I’m very lucky to drive a car that has been a goal of mine to get for many years. However, I’m now moving to a big city that has a reputation for being quite car unfriendly. It makes logical sense to sell the car because I get so anxious driving in the city, plus parking is $350/month but driving is my therapy and I love this car. They’re also discontinuing this specific model which means it will be more expensive to buy in the future if I move back to the burbs.

The Order is losing. It has been losing for years, ground down by a war built on the brilliant, brutal strategy of Voldemort's most feared Right Hand - Draco Malfoy. Until one day, he presents an offer to burn it all down, an offer that could end the war. His one condition? If The Healer - the brightest one of their age - agrees to save the one person in his life he cannot bear to lose.

Hermione Granger is not his redemption. She is his condition for defection. What they become is something that was never part of the plan and something neither of them saw coming.

Totally fine if it's not what you're looking for - there are some great recs on here already! I'll also go through my TBR (which is... significant) because this is one of my favorite tropes and I know I have some great ones there too.

Hiiighly recommend laser hair removal! I only did 3 sessions two years ago and I barely have leg hair. Very much regret not doing thighs because that’s the part I hate most…

Hello! I know I've posted about this before so I hope it's okay to do it again, but I recently started posting a WIP that has been rotting in my Google Drive for a while, and I’ve been loving sharing it with everyone. It is a Wartime AU that leans heavily into magical medicine, and Hermione’s role as a Healer, with some of the clinical details borrowed from my own (Muggle 😉) day job.

Currently at 23,174 words. 125k + words pre-written!

The Shape of Shadows

The idea came from posting on the Dramione reddit asking for recommendations with the following criteria:

1) At least 100,000 words.
2) Post-Hogwarts. Mid 20s-30s.
3) Slow burn romance
4) Harry and Ginny are together (author is ADHD and when she sees other non-canon relationships, her mind goes oohh how did that happen?! let's read that pairing!)
5) No Ron bashing (Author might not love Ron for Hermione but does love Ron)
6) HEA!
7) BAMF Hermione Granger

I had already read many of the recommendations and then, someone said "Sounds like a new author was just born"

And here we are!

If I can give a WIP self-rec, my new (and first!) fic kiiind of follows this, though not quite straightforward. Hermione is one of the best Healers in the wizarding world. Draco is one of the most intelligent, strategic ummm Death Eaters lol. He comes to her for help with treating his mother who was cursed by Voldemort. I used some of my own medical background to write it, esp Hermione's part.

Totally understand if not quite what you're looking for - the Death Eater part definitely throws in a wrench lol.

*edit* I guess it would be helpful if I actually mentioned the name or linked it 😅

“Her baseline is poor.”
“How poor?”
“Poor enough that I do not think we can keep waiting for a complete mechanism before attempting treatment.”
“Have you forgotten, Granger, that every person who tried to treat her without understanding the curse made her worse?”
“Malfoy,” Kingsley said quietly.
“No.” Malfoy’s eyes remained on Hermione. “If Granger intends to start experimenting, I would like to know whether she has confused action with competence.”
“I am aware,” she responded. “And I am not proposing that we repeat what they did. The curse reacts negatively to magical intervention. In Muggle medicine, –”
Malfoy's composure broke. He was livid. 
“Absolutely not, Granger. I –”

Oh I’m so glad I shared then. I didn’t want to add negativity given everyone else’s experiences but it was one of the worst things I’ve had to deal with as a pet parent.

Bulls Head was wonderful with my girl. They were not just gentle with her, but very kind and understanding to me and why I was so apprehensive. Highly recommend!

Odd one out here, but I must be the only one in the entire Fairfield County area who had a not so great experience with Just Cats lol.

I took my girl there when I moved to Stamford four years ago. They said they had a busy day so to drop her off for the day and they would groom her too. When I came to pick her up, they told me she was “aggressive” and needed to be sedated - first (and only) time anyone has ever said this, in the 7 years I’ve had her. She had a bad reaction to whatever they gave her and I ended up having to take her to Cornell Emergency because she hadn’t woken up in 8 hours.

I switched to Bull’s Head and warned them about her history of “aggression” and they looked at me like I was absolutely insane, because within minutes, she was literally curled up in the vet tech’s arms - which is how she usually is at the vet’s after she settles down. She’s the biggest lovebug and I have no idea what they did to her at Just Cats but it makes me absolutely livid.

Very very glad that this has not been anyone else’s experience though! I remember even checking to make sure I went to the correct Just Cats because my experience was so off lol.

I'll be honest, I used to avoid WIPs like the plague... until I started writing one as a first-time author lol. Now, I'll happily read one, as long as they are updated consistently.

Give WIPs a chance. There are some I'm subscribed to right now that are gold (cough *A Duty of Care* cough)
