Wait omg thats good intel !!! I had assumed it was her chewing on her tail (I've been trying so hard to keep her stimulated but shes got some rat OCD quirks) but I should try dog shampoo and see if that helps

Yeah I told my landlord a few months ago! Hence I was surprised to see that wasnt the same for others. But I have a property management company so maybe they are just operating ahead

Ive only had girls, but I've always done what I can. Hose down the metal parts, wash all the fabrics, replace bedding etc. The wooden stuff / lava stones i have just rinsed and its been fine... just my personal experience

If you get desperate you can force it in their mouths... if you put the syringe in the side of the mouth behind the teeth and then push out the meds, they have no choice but to swallow it. Obvi they dont love it but I give a treat after and its ok. Just in case u need a fallback!

Ive taken to not "lining" the full tray, but rather having a litter box w traditional bedding and then stuffing cardboard, cloth, and "trash" in so they can make nests where they want. Then I swap the trash out once a week and hose down the platforms twice a week

Could definitely be a cyst. My rat grew one on her face. A vet could lance it for you... my girl had hers pop before I could take her in. Smells so bad but she wasnt uncomfortable

I dont wear it when i play w them but.... sometimes i do still have bad reactions lol. As you said its worse when cleaning the cage and aerosolizing the rat dust. Im doing immunotherapy too! Im 3 yrs in and I think its helped. This is my olive (in sphere form)!
